I’m a retired educator, so although I’m still working part-time in a school, I have flexibility every day, including weekends. I’m usually available early mornings or later evenings, depending on the situation.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I pay very close attention to details, such as ensuring doors or gates are closed/locked as needed, making sure clean water and food are readily available depending on the pet’s needs, being respectful of my client’s home in every way, being available to clients who want to check in, and ensuring the pets I am caring for receive the best possible treatment.
Information Kathryn C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has reactions to other pets outside of their home (ex. on walks), if they have allergies or any other special needs. Please also let me know if there are places they don’t like to be petted (head, back, etc.), if they have special sensitivities (don’t like feet touched), or if they have injuries I need to look out for.
A typical day
I will come to your home and ensure that your pets are fed, watered, and let out. I will stay and play with them to give them some companionship, especially if they are alone most of the day. I am not a licensed vet tech so I am not comfortable administering shots, but I can give oral medication if needed. As I do have pets of my own at home, I require advance notice if your pets are sick or under treatment for anything. In order to keep my pets healthy, I cannot agree to visit a home where parvo has been diagnosed.

Pet care experience
Hello! I'm Kat, and I'm the happy human of a wonderful rescue dog, I know how hard it is to find someone you trust to take care of your precious pets. I also know how difficult and stressful it can be to transport your pets to a new location, which is why I am offering in-home services so your pets can feel safe and secure in their own environment. Due to the needs of my own elderly pet, I am able to offer walking, feeding, and letting in/out at this time. I have grown up with dogs, cats, and horses all my life and am very comfortable with any size pet. I am an animal advocate and am always concerned with the comfort, safety, and security of the pets for whom I am responsible. I’m a retired educator, so I have the maturity, time, and flexibility to ensure your pets are well cared for when you need help. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Reviews
I have known Kathryn for more than 55 years, and during that time I have always known her to be a responsible, loving, and dependable person. She has had pets for as long as I can remember, usually several cats and dogs at the same time, and they have always been well cared for and truly loved. Kathryn has a natural way with animals and treats them with patience, kindness, and attention. She understands that pets are part of the family and takes their care seriously. Whether it is feeding them, making sure they get exercise, or simply giving them affection and companionship, Kathryn consistently provides a safe and caring environment for every animal she looks after. Anyone who trusts Kathryn with their pet can feel confident knowing their animal will be treated with the same care and love she gives her own.
Kat is the most loving individual you will ever meet. When it comes to animals this triples. She has rescued many dogs in her lifetime, even saving one from being "put down" when it lost it's leg in an accident. She would not let this happen, instead she made sure this puppy got the necessary surgery and gave it a loving home. She loves her animals like they are her children, her family. She not only can be trusted with anyone's animal, she will make sure they have the best care possible. Put it this way, when I need someone to dog sit, I definitely have her on the top of my list.
Kat's animals are her life. My husband and I don't have children but we have dogs. We put Kat down in our will to take care of our pets and have set aside money for her to do so. She is an amazing woman with a giant love for animals!
