We would not recommend Kathryn for extended house sitting, though she may be a great candidate for quick dog walks or short cat drop-ins. While she was incredibly kind when we met, overnight house sitting proved to be more trouble than expected. Our dog appeared healthy, but upon our return, the apartment was in an unacceptable state. It needed significant cleaning because of stained carpets, tracked-in grime, dried food residue on counters, and personal items left behind. While we didn’t expect a spotless apartment, we did expect a basic cleanup after a two-week stay. We have no desire to be malicious, but house sitters have a responsibility to respect a client's home, and the lack of communication and cleanliness means we cannot recommend her for overnight stays.

She was kind and caring with Cashew and it was clear he got a lot of love and attention while we were away. She also took excellent care of our home. I do wish there had been more communication and photo updates throughout the stay. Overall, we appreciated having someone there for Cashew and are thankful for the care she provided.
