Certified Fear Free Pet Sitter

Specialization: I work a fully remote schedule. I specialize in working with small dogs, fearful dogs and dogs with from leash reactivity, reactivity to other animals, separation anxiety and medication administration. I have experience fostering puppies as young as six weeks old, caring for senior dogs, and befriending pups every age in between. Can’t sit: households with cats (sorry, allergies!), dogs that have bitten or attempted to bite a person Schedule: While sitting, I make your house home base. I’ll spend most of my day there and I can guarantee multiple walks a day (if your dog likes walks), lots of play time in between, and a sleepover at night! Need a sitter for just a few hours? If you have a date night planned or need to be gone for a few hours during the day, please reach out! I charge $45 for up to 6 hours of house sitting during the day.

We couldn't be happier with the genuine care she has for our dog and clear understanding of how to handle him, as he can be a handful! So glad we can leave and have peace of mind that our dog is in great hands.

Kathleen is the kindest and sweetest person we’ve met in our whole life! She was an absolute blessing to my wife & I while caring for our pup while we were on vacation, shortly after an emergency surgery at the vet. We couldn’t recommend Kathleen any more strongly.

Kathleen was outstanding and became fast friends with our pups! She met them (and us) ahead of time to make sure everyone was comfortable. While we were away she was always in communication, sent lots of photos, safely gave them their meds and kept them happy! We returned to a well kept home, too. Bonus! Will 100% be going back to her.

About fear free: From the first meeting, to a walk around the neighborhood, to an overnight stay, it is my goal to alleviate your dog's fear and anxiety and help them be as comfortable as possible. Most pets experience some fear, anxiety, and stress while living in the human world (from vets, to vacuums, to fireworks, to new people, the world can be scary at times!) When their humans are away, pets can be even more stressed. I can't wave a magic want to fix everything, but I have been trained on how to read pet body language to identify when they're feeling stressed and I have a number of techniques to help ensure they have a calmer, happier, less stressful time. I can also provide recommendations to fear free veterinarians, groomers, and trainers that I know personally should you have needs that extend beyond pet sitting.

I require a meet and greet before any booking to ensure that your pup and I are a good fit. I cannot accept any dogs that have bitten or attempted to bite people. Please let me know: - your pup's daily routine. I like to stick to a pup's routine as closely as possible! - any behavioral issues. I have experience with a range of issues including resource guarding, leash reactivity, dog reactivity, and separation anxiety and am happy to sit any dog whose triggers and fears I am aware of and can safely manage. - how long your pup is comfortable being left alone and if they are crated or uncrated when left alone during the day and at bed time. - meds dosage and schedule or allergies if you dog has any medical needs! I will not use prong, shock, or e-collars with any dogs I sit. Given the risk of injury or breaking of flexi-leashes, I do not use them and will require a non-retractable leash (or can bring my own).
