🐾 Small dog lover 🐾
I absolutely love all dogs, but small and elderly dogs are my specialty. I only board smaller dogs due to the height of my fence and for the comfort level of the animals in the house. Before joining Rover in 2023, I already had decades of experience working with dogs. :) I have worked with pets professionally in a veterinary clinic and in the nonprofit sector, as well as on a volunteer basis for local rescues. I have three small dogs and have cared for many more as a foster care provider. I work full time from home, so you can be sure I’ll be keeping a close eye on your loved one. My household also consists of an older teen as well as my husband. They are both totally on board and also love dogs.

Kathleen took amazingly good care of Toby. He enjoyed his stay with her, her family and her other small dogs. I appreciated the many pictures and updates that she sent us and I found them extremely reassuring. Of course, saying this, I recommend Kathleen without hesitation.
Kathleen was an absolutely wonderful sitter for our Ziggy! She consistently sent us great pictures each day, even multiple times a day, showing how much fun our dog was having! We really loved all the silly updates she sent! We knew we left our dog in great hands! She was so accommodating and great to work with; we’ll definitely be recommending her to everyone!

Schedule
Day care or vacation care in my home for smaller, older dogs are available assuming our dogs are a good fit. My dogs are seniors, so they get along best with dogs over two years of age who are past the puppy stage.

Safety, trust & environment
I have ample experience with shy, older and special needs/ quirky dogs. I am comfortable giving oral medication or insulin/ arthritis injections if needed. I have experience with dogs who had epilepsy, asthma and amputations, and cats with diabetes.
Pets
A typical day
I have a fenced yard (4 foot split rail with wire fencing between the rails), so the dogs can go out as often as they want. During the day I work at my home computer, so I am almost always nearby to keep a close eye on them, and to throw a ball or bring out new toys if they get bored. There are tons of comfy beds and blankets all over the house, and the dogs are welcome on the furniture.
