My schedule is centered around the dogs in my care. I work from home, which allows me to be present and available throughout the day while making their care a priority. I’m able to give each dog plenty of attention, companionship, and outdoor time while still allowing them to settle into a comfortable, relaxed routine. We enjoy multiple walks, playtime, cuddles, and quiet downtime throughout the day, and I do my best to follow each dog’s normal feeding, exercise, medication, and sleep schedule so they feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog's safety and comfort come first. I keep boarding intentionally small; no more than four guest dogs at one time so that I can monitor the dogs closely and get to know each dog's personality and needs. My home provides a comfortable, family environment rather than a kennel setting. Dogs have access to a screened pool area and outdoor space, with a separate fenced grassy play area (currently being added) to provide even more room for safe outdoor time. I believe trust is just as important as care. Before a stay, I want to learn about your dog, their routine, temperament, preferences, and anything that might help them feel comfortable while you're away. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing how your dog is doing.

Information Kathleen S. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your dog, the better I can care for them. Please tell me about: Your dog's normal daily routine Feeding schedule and food sensitivities Medications or special care needs Exercise needs and energy level How your dog interacts with other dogs How your dog behaves around people and children Any fears, anxiety, separation issues, or triggers Potty habits and whether they are fully house-trained Sleeping preferences Favorite toys, treats, activities, and ways they like to relax Any behaviors or situations I should be aware of Emergency contact and veterinary information Most importantly, tell me what makes your dog uniquely your dog. Their personality, quirks, favorite things, and little routines matter. My goal is not simply to provide a place for your dog to stay, it is to make them feel safe, loved, and genuinely at home while you're away.
A typical day
Every dog is different, so there isn't a rigid "one-size-fits-all" schedule. A typical day includes: Morning: Wake-up, potty break, breakfast according to your dog's routine, followed by a walk and outdoor time. Midday: More outdoor time, walks, supervised play, cuddles, and plenty of downtime. Dogs are welcome to relax in the house and follow their normal nap schedule. Afternoon: Another walk or outdoor session, individual attention, playtime, and relaxation. Evening: Dinner, potty break, another walk, family time, and plenty of affection. Bedtime: Dogs settle in for the night in my home. Dogs who enjoy sleeping in the bedroom are welcome to sleep with me rather than being isolated or kenneled. The goal isn't to keep dogs constantly busy. It's to give them a safe, comfortable day that feels as much like home as possible.

Reviews

Kathleen is a dog whisperer! We just returned from 2 weeks out of the country and our Scout was in the best of hands. Kathleen has a dog of her own that is so lovable and calm, so Scout had a buddy. Scout had an anal gland issue while we were gone (why is it always when you're out of town?) and Kathleen took her to the vet TWICE and took amazing care of her, and her problem is now resolved. Cannot recommend this sweet lady and her dog loving husband enough!
Kathleen S. cancelled a booking within a day of the start date.

Once again Kathie was amazing with Ivy! Lots of pics and updates. I can tell she is having the time of her life and comes home pooped out but so content. When i arrive to drop Ivy off, she bolts into Kathies arms and gives her a full face lick down, shes just so excited to see Kathie and her sweet dog Ranger. We’ve used Kathie three times and have her booked for another two dates! Love, love, love leaving Ivy with Kathie.

This was Ivy’s second time to stay with Kathie and once again she played her little heart out and had so much fun! Kathie made sure she had plenty of affection and kept her active with walks and play time. We’ve got a busy travel schedule coming up and have already planed for Ivy to stay with Kathie 3 more times!
