Your dog will have no competition – for attention, food, toys, etc. They’re the VIP. No stress of other dogs or kids or even people. They can hang with me in the office, sunbathe in the yard, watch TV downstairs, snooze in bed. They are free to explore my 900 sq ft home. I have one set of 13 stairs up to the bedroom and office. Downstairs is one large room with lots of room for dog bed and toys. There aren't a lot of places for them to get into trouble!

Alone time. While I do work from home and am present all day, there will be moments where I might be out of the house for errands or fun plans. So, while your dog and I will be hanging out a lot throughout the day, they will need to be able to handle some alone time.

A typical day with me is waking up and heading out to the backyard before breakfast. If it’s a nice day, I’ll leave the door open so your dog can come and go as they please while I work upstairs in my office. I try to squeeze in an afternoon break for a quick walk (weather permitting). I can provide treat puzzles, a snuffle mat, frozen snacks when boredom strikes. After work is some time in the back yard to chill and unwind. Then dinner, some TV, some couch cuddling, very low key.

Hi! I'm Katie. I have experience with senior dogs (especially pugs) and completed basic training classes with my last pug, so I'm confident handling the essentials. I work from home full time. I live alone in a quiet townhome with a fenced yard (one locked gate). Your dog will get plenty of company and personal attention in a calm, low stress environment; no kids, no other animals, and no chaos. Perfect for dogs who prefer one on one care. Neighbor Dog: I have a friendly female German Shepard next door. She has a dog door, so she will come outside to check things out. She will bark a couple of times but is only saying "hello". Our backyards are very close! Your dog will be in close contact with another dog (fence in between of course!). If your dog is reactive to other dogs, even with a fence in between, or enjoys long barky conversations through a fence, this may not be a good fit. Walks: Due to existing nerve damage and arthritis in my hip, I can do short, relaxed walks that run about 10-15 minutes. I cannot do running or high activity outings. Nothing wrong with my arm though, so I’m happy to toss toys around in the backyard.
