When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to mimic the routine and consistency that keeps your furry friend happy and comfortable. Dogs and cats thrive on routine and it is especially important when they are already distraught at your absence. By sticking to the normal times for walks, feeding, and bedtime, it gives them a sense of security and gives you peace of mind.
Information Kathleen R. would like to know about your pet
I will need to know ahead of time if your pet has any handling sensitivities, known triggers for fearfulness or reactivity, or medical considerations. None of these things are a red flag for me, I just want to make sure I’m meeting your pet where they are and can make them comfortable.
A typical day
One of my favorite things to do with pups is train and work their brains! Whether that’s basic obedience, puzzle toys, or advanced skills, my goal is to tire them out both mentally and physically. I love going on walks, trails and hikes as well as giving them new experiences within their comfort level.

Pet care experience
I have worked/volunteered at animal shelters for the majority of my life. I have also cared for several foster cats and dogs to help them find forever homes. I have experience working with dogs and cats of all breeds and ages. I am comfortable with high energy or anxious pups, can safely administer medication, and can do basic training. Leaving your pet in someone else’s care can be stressful. I want to ensure a positive experience for you and your best friend.

Reviews

Took care of our dogs in our home. Responded quickly to the sitting request. Had great questions when she came to meet the dogs and bonded with the girls quickly. Communication with us while we were away was great and we came home to happy dogs. An excellent experience. In all ways. Definitely recommend Kate.

Katie took great care of our dogs while we were out of town for the weekend. Communication was great and we received several pictures of our pups living it up and soaking up all the cuddles! We came home to happy pups and the house the way we left it. We highly recommend Katie and would use her services again in the future!
Katie has taken such good care of my rescue group’s fosters. The cats fostered by Katie were played with and cared for so well. Cannot recommend Katie enough for cat care.
Katie has extensive experience caring for both cats and dogs, including fostering animals and caring for her own. She has successfully found loving homes for many of her fosters and truly has a big heart for animal care. Katie is especially wonderful with my high-anxiety Dalmatian, knowing exactly how to support her. She tailors her approach to each animal, always giving them the time and space they need to adjust. She’s an exceptional caregiver and I always trust her caring for my babies!
