I am available during the weekdays after 4pm (except for Mondays), and I am fully available on the weekends. I don't have kids so I'm often able to accept last minute requests as long as it fits around my work schedule.

With overnight stays I always try to care for other people's pets as I would my own. I make sure they have a their own little sleeping spot with a bed and some toys. I always try to accommodate any preferences to make the pet feel at home and comfortable. I like to keep them on a normal schedule as far as eating and walks, similar to what they're used to with their owners, to alleviate any stress. I'm also big on cuddles and play time, every pet needs some love and attention!

I love all dogs. I don't have any preferences as far as breed goes. As for size, small to large is my preference. I am comfortable working with dogs of all temperaments, as long as they are not aggressive or particularly disobedient. Just let me know of any quirks or habits your dog may have (like short attention span, jittery around strangers, loves kid, etc), and how to best handle it, if necessary. If you or your dog have any preferences/needs as far as care or handling goes, please let me know and I'd be happy to oblige. In addition, please let me know if your dog has any injuries, conditions, or limitations that I should be aware of.
A typical day
As I previously stated, I am very familiar with the city. I will take your dog for walks around the neighborhood, through the local public parks or dog parks where available, or the beach. I can offer your dog some physical activity based in their needs. I can take your dog for a leisurely stroll in the park for some down time, allow them some time to sit and relax. For more high energy activity, I can take your dog for runs or play games with them. I can play fetch with your dog, run around the dog park with them, etc. I've also worked with elderly dogs who have physical limitations and maybe require more attention during walks. I'm very ready and able to accommodate you and your dog's needs and preferences.

**PLEASE NOTE**: I am moving out of the Chicago and will not be accepting any new requests after 7/31/24 I am patient, gentle, and an animal lover. I'm 31 and a Chicago native. I'm very familiar with the city, I live near the Six Corners area. It's a very dog friendly area within walking distance of Portage Park. Aside from dog walking and pet sitting I also enjoy practicing yoga, reading & writing, watching the Office, and studying French. I do not have pets of my own but I do have experience volunteering in a dog shelter and I have been offering pet care services for 6 years now. I especially love working with playful and social dogs (willing to put up with face licking and invasion of personal space haha) but I am accommodating to all types of dogs/cats and owners. I also have a lot of experience babysitting and caring for children. I find that a lot of the skills and patience required for childcare also translate to handling animals, especially dogs. Overall, I'm a patient, nurturing, and attentive caregiver.

Kathleen was an absolute hero when one of my dogs Frankie became (very unglamorously) ill with a stomach bug while I was away. She kept me updated as to how Frankie was doing and really held down the fort - even gave her a bath. Came home to a well-managed situation instead of the absolute carnage that it could have been. So so grateful for the A+ communication and for taking such good care of the kids amid a truly crappy (literally) situation
