Kat & Henry's Doggo Retreat
I grew up with dogs my entire life in the Caribbean. Many different breeds and mixes of dogs have been a part of my family, such as Border Collie (Bolt), German Shepard (Duke), Rottweilers (Nugget & Nero), Great Dane/Mastiff (Beowulf), Doberman (Bia & Nabu) and Jack Russell (Marvel). Your furry family member will be staying in an apartment where folks come by just to pet the dog. My partner Henry and I will love and care for your pet like they are our own. Our friends are also dog lovers and love to assist in the cuddling part of the Rover bookings. I love all dogs and animals and it brings me great happiness to take care of them and make sure they are living happy fun filled doggy lives. I can't promise that your pupper will want to go home after they stay here :)

Kathleen and Henry are amazing! Bella gets excited as we pull up to their house, and their accommodations, updates throughout the day, and professional photographer level pup-photos make me smile throughout the day 😊 My schedule has been a little chaotic lately and they have been nothing but friendly and flexible! Kat was amazing! She took wonderful care of my dog, Starbuck, for a full week over Thanksgiving and kept me updated the whole time. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup. I’d definitely book with her again!

Schedule
I'm not at home full time but I have a relatively flexible schedule. Henry cares for the dogs during the day on my long work days in addition to when we're all at home. I always have 3 day weekends which allow me to give lots of love and attention to your furry family member. I can provide more details on request ☺️

Safety, trust & environment
My front yard is unfenced but I sometimes have access to a fenced backyard. I normally take dogs on walks for potty breaks or down to the front yard if they are less active. I don't have any pets in my home, and I only host one dog at a time so your doggo will get unlimited attention. Since I am not home full time, your dog should be able to be left alone for about 2-4 hours (weekends) and 8 hours (weekdays) depending on the length of your stay. This can also be discussed based on your booking dates. I also have a pet gate installed inside my front door to keep your pet extra safe. There are also other safety gates installed inside the house to deter doggo mischief 🐕🧻🗑️🚽
A typical day
I normally take the dogs around my neighbourhood for walks. If it's a work day then I take them in the morning and then again in the afternoon. I also give pre bedtime potty breaks. For more active dogs we can play ball/fetch in evenings or weekends, or go for a run if your dog likes that. On a couple days a week, I play tennis and frequent parks in the Cupertino, San Jose and Sunnyvale areas, if your dog is good off leash and has good recall, I can take them to get more exercise at larger parks and/or fields on evenings or weekends. On other days we take it slow, go for a more leisurely walk and relax at home.

- Let me know: - Your dog's daily routine or your preferred feeding and walking schedule, including how long/far you'd like walks to be - any commands they know - their temperament - their personality - If they are okay being left at home alone - Do they have anxiety and what helps to make them more comfortable or calm them down - if your dog has any issues climbing stairs, and if they can be lifted if so (I am in an upstairs apartment) - If they are reactive and their triggers - if they bark a lot or are quiet - anything you think is particular to your pet. I require meet and greets prior to booking a dog for the first time to make sure we're a good fit for each other. I'm also open to booking 1 night stays or having your dog explore my home prior to your main booking so your companion can get familiar with my home environment, and be more comfortable during your main booking. The cost of the the trial night can be deducted from the main booking after the main booking starts. No breed preferences :) All dogs deserve a happy life and lots of love.
