This did not work out. The dog is 15 year old Jack Russell- rat terrier mix of 18#. I asked for those I sent a request to , to please read his bio as he does have anxiety to the point he needs daily meds for it and we were attending our daughters wedding so would be busy. She said she had dealt with this before and it would be okay. My daughter was coming from out of state and wanted to see him so we planned for a sitter local to the venue. We took Tank to meet sitter the week prior. The only question she asked was if he had bowel or bladder issues. We said as his bio says he had started leaking some urine and the Dr prescribed med and since then he has had no further issues. He does require to go out every 2-4 hrs which was listed on the booking. When I texted that we were on our way she had got the times mixed up and didn’t know we had booked for the am, which again was on the booking request. Once we were there we told her he may need his anxiety med increased due to the new environment and took extra. Sitter said he peed 4 times and pooped in her house when she asked us to pick him up within 1 1/2 hrs of dropping him off. She said he never settled down. He has never done this at our home even when we first took him in. However, we have always rescued adult shelter dogs so maybe just have more experience with special needs, high anxiety dogs. She also told us that his meds were the problem, that I should read their side effects, which was concerning since he has seen the same vet practice for the past 5 years and they know him very well. Thankfully we found a place to take him for the weekend which reduced the immense stress this situation created.
