Pet care experience
Dog mom and foster failure.
Hi there! I have been a "dog mom" for many years and understand and appreciate how important they are as members of the family. My dog Kody is my heart and since I don't have human children, all the maternal instincts, which are many, are focused on him. I think you have to be a *dog person" to truly understand what I mean. I have fostered for a rescue (which led to two additions to my family) and tend to be a bit over protective which means I am very aware of how they are doing, if there are any changes and most importantly how they are cared for. The same would hold true for any dog I am responsible for. I have a good amount of availability and am open to discussing boarding or providing day care in my home provided your dog is "dog friendly". I am somewhat limited to the number of hours I am able to provide at one time if the care is in the community and therefore would be looking for work in the Highlands Ranch area.

Ratings and reviews
I first met Kathleen in 2015 when she adopted my foster dog, Maya, who I was fostering for Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue (RMCR). This poor dog was afraid of her own shadow. I took Maya to Kathleen’s home on numerous occasions as she would need a slow introduction to her new family. During the visits, I observed how Kathleen cared for her two dogs as well as the kindness, patience and commitment she showed to Maya. I knew it was the perfect match. Before I met Kathleen, she adopted an abused Cocker Spaniel named Wally from RMCR. Wally was a mess when he came to the rescue and Kathleen opened her heart and home to him. Wally lived a very long and happy life with Kathleen. Kathleen has fostered for RMCR on several occasions and has always given her foster dogs the same love and care that she does her own. Kathleen does not take her responsibility lightly and is very thorough about gathering as much information about any dog in her care. Kathleen has volunteered to watch my dogs on numerous occasions, and they have always been well cared for. I trust her completely. Most recently Kathleen took care of my dog Jackson while I traveled to Missouri to bring 18 mill dogs into RMCR. Jackson had a great time at her home and loved spending time with her dog Kody.

Schedule
I am currently job hunting and therefore have a lot of time to take care of your pup, especially if I am providing care in my home. A meet and great will be important as well as an introduction of our dogs to each other.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I treat them as if they are mine. I have a 4.5 year old cockapoo who would be a great companion provided it is a good fit. I have a six foot fence yard and always accompany my dog outside.
Pets
A typical day
This depends on the pet's needs and preferences. Playing fetch, walk, play with my dog, cuddling on the couch are some of the many options.
