Loving Care 4 Animals of All Needs

I am a very patient, compassionate animal lover with more than 25 years of personal pet ownership and sitting experience (both dogs & cats). I have 10 years of rescue engagement where I fostered 100+ animals that included care for sick, injured, scared, and skittish animals. I fed, walked, groomed, healed/trained the animals and provided medication as well as support for vet visits. I evaluated potential adopters and coordinated placements into the most ideal permanent homes. I also have experience (and a very big soft spot) for senior and disabled animals that need additional care and support. I am comfortable with providing required medication such as topicals, eye drops, oral chemo, CBD, etc., and any care that requires diapers, wheelchairs or other types of medical support.

There are a lot of great sitters out there, but Kathy is the best! (Selfishly I don't want to admit that, because I know her calendar will start filling up quickly as soon as people realize that ...) Our little guy was loved and (almost) as happy as he is when he's at home. He can't wait to go back. She was great to work with all around, with lots of photos and updates during our trip. We are so thankful we found her.

Kathleen was absolutely fantastic. We unfortunately needed help very last minute for the 4th of July. They were super accommodating in getting us covered. I feel like our two pugs can be a bit energetic but they did a wonderful job keeping them entertained, sent pictures throughout their stay, administered meds for the older dog, and distracted them through the fire works. Pick up and drop off was super easy. We were able to unwind over our trip and not worry. The dogs also seemed super happy and comfortable at pick up. Definitely seems more like they had a puppy vacation. We will absolutely be reaching out again.

Kathy has been an incredible dog sitter for my two pups. Joey, Neo, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly! The first time she watched Joey he was a very young puppy, but he was completely comfortable with her from the start. She clearly understands dogs and has a natural ability to make them feel safe and at ease. During this first day, not only did she capture the cutest photo of him napping on her lap, but she also helped socialize him with her own dogs. This helped Joey gain confidence with things he'd been struggling with, mainly conquering the stairs :) Kathy's natural affinity with dogs is evident in how quickly they trust her. She’s also a fantastic communicator with humans—keeping me updated, sharing photos, and making sure I always felt informed and reassured. I would absolutely trust her with my dogs anytime.

Schedule

I recently moved to Arizona from Washington to be closer to aging parents. I do not currently work and my schedule is extremely flexible. I am open to weekends and holidays, sitting at my place or at the clients home. I do occassionally travel but that will be noted on the Rover calendar as needed.

Safety, trust & environment

The safety and security of the animal and the clients home is priority #1 for me. I have high situational awareness (at home or in public spaces) that is always focused on the well being of the pet. I currently have one Chiweenie that lives elsewhere, so pets staying at my house would have full run of the kitchen, living room and bedroom (with them never out of sight). There is access to a fully fenced yard from both the living room and the bedroom. They are welcome to sit on the couch if that is their preference. Also, sharing the bed here is totally fine. The typical home ambience is quiet and calm.

A typical day

Fun activities are decided by the pup and what their owners request or share with me. I am game for anything whether it is a rousing visit to the dog park or quiet snuggle time on the couch in a peaceful environment.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
Kathleen can host up to 2 pets per night
It is important for me to understand any special care needs that the pets have, if there are any particular triggers that cause anxiety and what actions I can take to ensure that the pet feels safe. I want to introduce as little disruption/change into their routines as possible.
