Hey there! I'm Kat, and I'm a lifelong animal lover with extensive experience caring for dogs. I had my adopted Rwandan street dog Waffle for the last 14 years - she sadly passed away in September, and I miss the sweet little weirdo deeply. I'm now especially eager to walk, play with, bond with, and care for dogs and cats! I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve been the go-to dog walker and sitter since I was young for friends, neighbors, and family members. I'm able to administer medication and happy to follow any requests or instructions you have for your dog. I’m happy to offer dog walking, overnight stays, drop-in visits, and care for multiple pets. I love a long Rock Creek Park walk, and I’m equally as happy to make sure your dog gets a day of exercise as I am to pop in and offer some chill company. I’ll always make sure to provide pictures and updates so that you know your pet is in the best of hands. As a lifelong dog mom myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I’m currently in the job search process, and the one silver lining is that there is more time for animal care! I’m available on your schedule, and very flexible on both weekdays and weekends. Kathleen came to walk my puppy after he had been crated for several hours so I know he was probably super energetic. She took him on a long sniff walk and sent cute pics and a video. She was a pleasure to meet in person for our meet & greet and I just knew I could trust her!
Kat was a wonderful caretaker for our old hound, Sally while we were away for a week. She sent regular photos and updates, and left the house exactly as we had left it. We'll definitely be seeking to work with Kat again.

My apartment has housed my dog Waffle since I moved in, so it's set up and equipped for a dog to comfortably stay in. My apartment building has a fenced in dog park outside, and I'm minutes away from both Rock Creek Park and Malcolm X/ Meridian Hill Park, so ample options for great walks! If I stay at your home to care for your pet, I'll make sure to respect it as I would my own. I'm always happy to water plants, grab mail, etc. while I'm over. I'm very responsible, tidy, and detail-oriented.
A typical day
I would absolutely love to go on a long Rock Creek Park or Malcolm X/ Meridian Hill Park walk with your dog, or throw a toy around for them to play with! A stroll around the block or heading to a dog park is great too. Of course I'm always down for couch cuddles and belly rubs as well. It depends on your request and your dog's preference.
