I am 36 years old and have one daughter, who is 13 years old. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of River Falls. I have experience with many different kinds of animals (dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and even reptiles), and always ensure I remain as knowledgeable and up-to-date as possible on best standards of care for any animal in my keeping. With a wealth of experience in veterinary and humane society settings, I have plenty of knowledge and resources to draw on. I tailor my approach to each animal in order to provide the experience that will best suit them and their personality. Every animal is an individual, and I firmly believe one size does not fit all. Any animal in my care will receive the best of my knowledge and experience to ensure the remain happy, healthy, and well cared for.
Information Kathleen D. would like to know about your pet
Primarily, I will need to know if a dog as any odd behaviors or peculiarities that I should be aware of or that may take special considerations. Additionally, I have a young child and two cats in the home, so if a dog has any issues concerning either, I would need to know.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks When walked, your dog would be taken out on a six foot leash. Typically, we would walk down the road (a quiet, country road with little traffic) with my daughter in her jogging stroller. Additionally, for exercise, we have a very large yard and long 20 to 30 foot leashes as well as a large pole/machine shed for some free run/play. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I have several options for sleeping arrangements. If your dog is used to sleeping in your room and you feel he would be more comfortable left out at night, I am happy to let me sleep in my room and have dog beds just for that purpose. If he is used to sleeping in a kennel, I can certainly accommodate that as well. I have an extra kennel that would be suitable for dogs up to 50 pounds, or if you prefer you can bring your dog's own kennel. Additionally, I have several different areas on my house gated off with extra tall gates. If this is preferable, your dog can sleep in one of these gated off rooms (with a bed provided for him of course), where he will have plenty of room to roam in he is a restless sleeper. Time I'll spend with your dog Currently I am working from home, so I will have plenty of time to provide one on one for each pet, as well as lots of play time with my daughter and our dog (if acceptable).

Pet care experience
Give your dog the best away experience possible. With lots of fun and interactive activities for your dog, he'll barely notice he's away. Or, if you dog needs a little more peace and quiet, I can do that too. If you book my services, you may rest-assured that your pet is receiving exceptional care from an experienced professional. I have provided care for many animals over my life, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and even reptiles. I have trained and shown both dogs and horses in professional settings, and have experience with many different breeds, ages, and activity levels. Additionally, I previously worked in both veterinary clinics and humane societies, so I have a wealth of veterinary knowledge and experience caring for animals of all kinds. If you only need someone to come check in on your dog, feed and walk, or personal one on one training from an experienced trainer, I am happy and willing to do all of these tasks! Please ask about pricing as it will vary depending upon task and location.
Reviews

Kathleen was great! I knew my dogs were in good hands after meeting with her!

Kathleen was fabulous! My dog loved her. Despite the cold weather she still managed to get my pup out for a walk during her drop in sessions and gave her some nice playtime as well. I would highly recommend Kathleen!!!!
Kathleen has a lifetime of experience caring for pets and larger animals as well. What with working at a veterinarian office, director at a no-kill shelter, in depth 4-H projects, and of course caring for her own reptiles, cats, dogs and horses, she is up for most anything. My dogs are happy to stay at her house any time.
