I was in Kanab for business travel bringing with me my special needs dogs. Kathi arrived early the first day so she was able to meet my dogs, go over any routines, and any additional information. Upon returning from plans, Kathi provided me a thorough report which gave me peace of mind as she was attentive to their needs. The second day, the dogs already recognized her (by smell as they are blind), and settled ...
Kathi was awesome! Very accommodating of a last-minute booking when I wasn't going to be able to get my guy out on his usual midday long walk. As he is somewhat people-shy, you need to possess the right low-key energy and calm demeanor to meet his approval, and judging by his happy, but tired, tongue-out smile when they returned, he evidently said she passed with flying colors! Thanks Kathi!
Kathi is awesome with animals. She spent over a week with my huskies when I was out of town. One of them is very non-trusting of humans; and therefore, is a fear biter. She is always able to recognize his triggers and heed his warnings. Because of this, she is one of his most favorite people on the planet. Kindness and respect is all any animal wants. Kathi delivers on this.
I miss my dog and need my fix!
I once owned a pet sitting business in Atlanta where I provided in-home visits for dogs and cats, as well as dog walks. I loved it, especially the mid-day dog walks and cat cuddling. I recently retired from Best Friends Animal Society, here in Kanab, so my schedule is very flexible. Working with Best Friends for 14 years allowed me to meet some amazing pets and their people, so I've learned much about pet safety ...
What Kathi would like to know about your dog
Although I am a sucker for an adorable pit bull type dog, I love all kinds of dogs.
I would need to know what your dog's fears are and how your dog reacts around all kinds of people as well as other dogs. I would also need to know about any physical limitations or medical needs. Finally, I would want to know any other likes or dislikes - such as belly rubs, brushing, and games.
If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, a 30-minute visit is probably not the best option for you. You may want to consider hiring someone who can stay with your dog. I want this to be a happy experience for us all!
