Katherine can care for
Availability
I am available 7 days a week! I am in school part-time, online, so I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies. When house sitting, I spend the majority of the day with the pets. I do leave the house for short periods to run errands, get food, etc. but for no more than 4 hours per day so I still spend plenty of time with your pets. However, with advanced arrangements I can provide 24-hour care for pups that need it!

Safety, trust & environment
When walking dogs, I use my own belt and leash to keep your dog physically attached to me, and at night I sometimes wear a vest for extra visibility if the area is poorly lit. I generally avoid other animals and limit interactions with people when dog walking to prevent any potential incidents. I treat client’s homes with respect! When staying in your home, I bring my own food and sparingly use basic kitchen condiments. With your permission, my partner sometimes comes over to visit me (and meet the pets!) but other than that I do not allow any visitors. You will return home to find your house as clean or cleaner than you left it. I can bring in any mail/packages and take out trash/recycling on collection day. I will follow your pet’s usual routine to help them feel at ease while you are away and you will return home to a happy pet!
Information Katherine Z. would like to know about your pet
I sit for all pets, but I specifically cater to pets that need medication, senior pets, special needs animals, and dogs with behavioral challenges. Please let me know how I can best care for your pet(s)!
A typical day
I always send a daily update on how the pets are doing and send lots of pictures! I love to provide dogs with stimulation and enrichment to keep them happy. I believe this looks different for each pet, and I love getting to know each animal’s personality by playing with them! Once your pup is walked and played out, I love providing scratches as they relax. With cats, I take a gentle approach and respect that I am entering the cat’s home, I love to “talk” with cats and you may hear me on your camera meowing at your cat :) I find that typically shy cats are much more at ease with this approach. During overnight stays, I have won the affection of many shy cats, always to the client’s surprise. Every cat is different and I love them all.

Experienced Professional Sitter
Pet care experience
While previously employed by a professional pet sitting company, I cared for over 100 different dogs and cats. I have extensive experience caring for dogs with a variety of behavioral challenges. I am experienced with senior pets and administering pet medications, including insulin and inhalers. I currently am the lucky owner of four adorable chinchillas, and I used to have gerbils and a dog.

Reviews

Katherine is a regular sitter for us and she is just incredibly reliable and does a good job every time she watches our dogs. We’d recommend her to absolutely anyone!

Katherine is a regular sitter for us. She’s incredibly reliable. She’s sat our two large dogs many times and never once have we worried about the house or the dogs. She always spends lots of time with them and takes great care of the house. We love Katherine!

We absolutely love Katherine. She’s always punctual, communicative, respectful of the house, and sends so many pictures! She took care of our two large dogs while we were away and she took very good care of them. She spent extra time cuddling with our clingy one and they seem to really like her. We’d recommend Katherine to anyone!

Katherine was hands down the best experience I've had with Rover so far. She was attentive, timely, sent plenty of pictures and text updates with each visit. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter.
