Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard with a 3 ft fence, but I don’t like to leave dogs unsupervised outside unless they actually prefer it. We use the yard for playing fetch. I take care to keep dogs on leash until we have built a trust, or always if that is the dog’s need. I can take them to fenced in dog areas to play alone or with others depending on the dog’s needs. I have a variety of cozy dog beds and toys. I love using puzzle balls and frozen kongs to keep dogs relaxed and engaged in the house.

Information Katherine S. would like to know about your pet

Here is a list of questions I always like to know. 1. How is your dog with other dogs, people (men and women), and children? I live with my male partner and we don't have children, but there are children in the neighborhood. 2. Does your dog have any food allergies or dislikes? 3. Does your dog have anything they are afraid of, that spooks them (fire works, bikes, hats, loud noises, etc) 4. Does your dog have separation anxiety? Can they be left alone for a period of time? 5. Is there anything you're working on with your dog that I can help you maintain? 6. Can I take your dog off leash? How is their recall? 7. Can I take your dog hiking/skiing or to playdates with other dogs?

A typical day

I like to start the morning off with some outside time like a walk or hike. We live a stone's throw from the Yellowstone River and an off leash dog park. For quieter walks we go to the island for a stroll. For dogs that really like to run by them selves or don't have a great recall, I have several fenced in areas I can take them to play. We take a break at lunch to play catch or swim if it's hot. Then we'll do a hike, run, or walk in the afternoon usually before dinner.

Pet care experience

**After a year away, I’m back! I missed all your pups!** I grew up working at a horse barn to earn my horse and have always loved animals! When I watch my friends’ dogs they started calling it Camp Katie because I always make sure their furry friends are exercised mentally and physically, and get all the love and attention they need. When I lost my dog, I began fostering for Stafford Animal Shelter. I love being able to meet and work with so many great animals. I can’t wait to welcome your dog (or cat or horse) to Camp Katie

I can't say enough good things about Katie! She gave us frequent updates with photos. Our dog loved her. We joked that we basically sent him to dog Disneyworld with Katie. Hikes and swims and all the good things!

Katie was the best for taking care of my senior Mini Aussie, Stone. He was well cared for... many walks, a hike even and toys, and another dog to play with. He was so happy when I picked him up! Great stay... highly recommend, Kaitie!

As always, Katie did a great job caring for Chica, our chickens, and our home! She sent regular updates and pictures, and made sure Chica got out for lots of fun.
