Pet care experience
RN & Shelter volunteer/30+ years
I’m a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience caring for animals, including dogs, cats, and even horses. What sets me apart is my calm, attentive approach and my ability to handle pets of all ages and needs — from playful puppies to senior pets requiring medications or extra support. I’ve also volunteered at local animal shelters for years, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds, personalities, and behavioral needs. I’m comfortable administering medications, following specialized care routines, and creating a safe, loving environment for every pet. Whether your pet needs energetic playtime, gentle companionship, or specialized care, I bring a blend of professional skill, real-world experience, and deep love for animals to every visit.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets, my top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining their familiar routine. With over 30 years of experience — and a background as a registered nurse — I bring a calm, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to every visit. I follow your care instructions exactly and always take time to understand your pet’s habits, health needs, and personality. Whether your dog needs medication, your cat is shy, or your senior pet needs a little extra support, I provide attentive and loving care tailored to their unique needs. Your pet stays in the comfort of their own environment, and I do everything I can to make their time without you as stress-free as possible. I’m respectful of your home, tidy, and always communicative — so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your pet (and your space) is in good hands.
Ratings and reviews
Katherine did a fantastic job taking care of my two Ridgebacks. She came before her scheduled stay to meet the dogs and let me know when she arrived and was leaving. She stayed in my house since my older dog needs overnight outdoor breaks. I was tentative having someone I did not know stay at my house and she was great and neat. She was attentive and thoughtful. She kept me up to date of how both pups were doing over the stay and sent lots of pictures. Would definitely have her watch my pups again!

Schedule
Pet care is a natural and fulfilling part of my daily life. I structure my schedule around the animals I care for, making sure they get the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. As a registered nurse, I’m organized, calm, and attentive — and those qualities extend directly into how I care for pets. Whether it’s morning walks, feeding routines, playtime, or administering medications, I’m consistent and reliable. I also spend plenty of time outdoors, so incorporating dogs into my active lifestyle is easy and enjoyable. Caring for animals isn’t a side task for me — it’s something I genuinely love and prioritize every day.
