Pet care experience

Remote Worker, Happy Dogs

I believe the best care starts with getting to know each dog's unique personality, routine, and comfort level. No two dogs—or pet parents—are exactly alike. Whether your dog thrives on long walks and adventures, enjoys practicing a few training cues (with allll the snackies!), or simply wants someone nearby while they snooze, I adapt my care to what helps both of you feel comfortable and confident while you're apart. My current job, as I work predominantly remotely, has a fairly flexible schedule. Because of this, I'm fortunate to be able to spend much of the day with the dogs in my care—not just the mornings and evenings. For 15 years, I had the privilege of sharing life with my sweet service dog, Brady. Together we learned, trained, explored, and adapted through every stage of life—from first swims to ongoing training and nosework, and later to weekly physical therapy, acupuncture appointments, and our favorite "ba-ba-baloney" song that became part of Brady's nightly medication routine during his senior years. I loved loving my boy. He taught me early on that every moment, no matter how small, is an opportunity to bring comfort, consistency, and so much joy. I've been fortunate to spend time with lots of different types of dogs—from beloved family companions to comfort dogs in higher education and even municipal working dogs. No matter their role or personality, I genuinely enjoy the thoughtful, individualized connection that helps each pup feel confident, secure, and understood. Whether we're heading out on an adventure or relaxing together while I work, I'm happy to adapt each day to what helps your dog feel most at ease. If they thrive on a consistent routine or have a detailed medication schedule, you can count on me to keep things familiar and consistent. The same goes for communication. If you love updates, photos, and the occasional goofy dog selfie throughout the day, I'm all in. If you'd rather unplug and receive one thoughtful update each evening, I'm happy to do that, too. My goal is to tailor not only your dog's care, but your experience as their person. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you're away, knowing your pup is safe, comfortable, happy, and well-cared for.

Ruby had a wonderful first stay with Kat! From our very first conversation about boarding Ruby, Kat was attentive, thoughtful, and a great communicator. She took such great care of Ruby and kept me updated on all of their activities. I especially loved receiving the photos—it was so reassuring to see how happy, comfortable, and relaxed Ruby looked. She truly seemed to be having the best time! I felt completely at ease knowing Ruby was in such caring hands, and I wouldn’t hesitate to have Kat care for her again.

House Sitting • Sep 02, 2026

Katherine was absolutely fantastic! She watched our pups for a long weekend and was incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, and communicative the entire time. She kept us updated with plenty of pictures, and it was so nice being able to enjoy our time away without worrying about a thing. She also went above and beyond in ways we never expected. She brought in packages, did laundry, washed the dogs’ bowls, and somehow left our house even better than she found it. Our pups were clearly well cared for and loved, and we came home to happy dogs and a spotless house. We’d absolutely book Katherine again and couldn’t recommend her more.

Drop-In Visits • Aug 24, 2026

Katherine was absolutely wonderful to work with and so great to our pup. We booked morning drop-ins and our girl can be a bit shy at first, but Katherine was so patients and great with her. She went above and beyond while we were away, was excellent at communicating and sending pics of our Cali girl. We can’t recommend Katherine enough!!

Kat was exceptionally well-attuned and responsive to Gus's needs as a senior dog with mobility concerns, and was so diligent in taking photos of him throughout the day. Honestly, the best dogsitter Gus has EVER had - I would recommend her 1000 times over!

Schedule

I work remotely, which means your dog gets promoted to coworker. My favorite colleagues just happen to have four legs. On the occasional day I head into the office for a meeting, I'm only about 15 minutes away from my home and have a full hour for lunch, making midday walks, potty breaks, playtime, and medication schedules easy to accommodate. My goal is to keep your dog's routine as familiar and consistent as possible while you're away

Safety, trust & environment

My home is on a quiet side street with a fully fenced backyard and is less than a two-minute walk from a park, giving us easy access to open green space, plenty of opportunities to explore, and, for water-loving pups (with your permission, of course!), a splash pad on warm summer days. Whether I'm caring for your dog in my home or yours, my goal is to provide a safe, consistent environment that feels as familiar as possible.

A typical day

I like to tailor your dog's stay to their (and your!) specific preferences and joys. We can go on neighborhood walks, hang out in my fenced in backyard, check out the park (including the splash pad in the summer!), work on practicing any commands/tricks you're in the process of training, snooze away my airconditioned home, or catch all the sunbeams and look out the windows of my front porch. I work remotely most days, so your dog will have company throughout the day while I work with frequent potty/walking breaks. I also have an hour-long lunch so it's the perfect time for an extended adventure, if needed.

I'm a big fan of communicating any specific needs/preferences (such as dietary, medication-related, and behavioral) that will best help me care for your pup. I also welcome knowing your preference in terms of updates as I will also happily provide you with text updates and photos as you like.
