Safety, trust & environment

I’ll treat your pets like I treat my own, all of mine are rescues that took time, patience and trust to get to where we are now. I understand that having a new person around might be scary for your pet at first but I look forward to building a relationship with them so we all feel safe and comfortable. Having a nervous, reactive dog and a nervous cat has taught me how to better understand dog and cat body language and to go at their own pace.

Information Katherine M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any behaviors I need to be aware of ahead of time, especially if your dog is reactive. I need to know how to keep me and your animal safe.

A typical day

A typical day is completely dependent on what *your* pet needs! It isn’t one size fits all, my dog loves to be out exploring and sniffing for hours but I know plenty of dogs who are ready to be home after a quick mile loop. We could take a walk or a hike or we could learn a new trick and play enrichment games.

Pet care experience

I’m the mom to a cat named Zeppelin, a dog named Stevie and a horse named Cece. I successfully trained both Stevie and Zeppelin (yes you can train a cat!) myself and have dabbled in equine training as well. Being the guardian of a nervous, reactive pup, I pride myself on understanding animal behavior and dog body language. After bringing Stevie home, I was quickly thrown into the world of dog training and behavior modification out of necessity and I have a special place in my heart for nervous pups. I've even started training other people's dogs on the side! After training my own dog, I fell in love with the process and couldn't put it down! I’ve also worked in a veterinary office and feel confident in my abilities to keep your animals safe and know how to handle emergencies.

Our animals love when Kat stops by! We have 2 cats, a dog and a few barn animals, all of which adore her. She treats every one of them like her own. Kat is our go to dog walker and animal check in person because we know our animals are safe, loved and given lots of proper enrichment when they are with her. She always follows care directions to a T and sends lots of great update pics. She always takes Zero (our dog) on the best walks through the trails and I know he has a blast.

Kat has been walking and training our dog Bella for almost a year now and we could not recommend her more!! Bella is always so happy to see her and comes home from every walk happy and ready for a nap :) Kat is responsible, communicative and genuinely loves working with dogs. We never have to worry about Bella when she's with Kat and the peace of mind that comes with that is unmatched.
