Availability

I work a standard 9-to-5 job but with a slightly flexible start/end time, work remotely several days a week, and am home weekends and most holidays, so pet care naturally fits my routine. On WFH days, I walk about 4-5 miles/day, and I'm also looking for a furry friend to join. I lived (and worked) multiple places in the city, including Georgetown and Adams Morgan, but currently a homeowner in Dupont, so it's fairly easy for me to get to and around the nearby neighborhoods.

Information Katherine L. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any personal space needs or behavioral issues I should be aware of and/or there are other dogs or certain animals they have a special reaction to -- and any known words or tips (perhaps something they've been trained on) to get their attention when distracted. I also like to know if they have a favorite spot or route, or they like something different each time -- ie., lots of new things to pee on.

A typical day

A typical day depends on your and the particular pet's needs. For example, I know that sometimes it's an exercise walk and sometimes it's a sniffy walk for mental stimulation. (We do both in my house!) If they need active play (e.g., a long walk/run or some ball throws), I'm more than happy to do that. If they need something less strenuous (e.g., a sit in the shade and a quick sniff in the grass), I'm more than happy to do that. I also have completed multiple pet trainings programs, including the ones they offer at Petsmart and can implement those commands and techniques if desired.
