Dog Walker, Dog Trainer, Cat Lover

Please note: During winter, hours will change. Although Rover doesn’t allow specific time blocks, walks are limited to 10am to 6pm for personal safety purposes. I’ve worked and volunteered in different shelters. I was the lead trainer and behavioral expert at Ruby Whiskers in Lemont, IL, and have been a part of WagsForMags training service dogs and therapy dogs. I have trained my last 2 service dogs, as well as trained and worked with many neighbors in my area on basic pet manners, reactivity, leash walking and socialization. I’ve owned many different types of pets from turtles to dogs and hamsters, rabbits and chickens, and fish! If you’re looking for someone who’s well-educated about animals and animal care needs depending on the given pet’s breed/species, I’m your person! I am aware of the dos and don'ts when it comes to healthy nutrition and balanced exercise (and mental stimulation) and can also provide additional positive-based training sessions for your dogs if needed! Additionally, I am also up to knowledge about dog/cat CPR. I love animals and care for their well-being and proper animal husbandry!

Katherine was great! She kept us updated regularly and took exceptional care of our home and dog. She even took our lazy bulldog on walks (I think she’s a magician) :) thanks for a wonderful stay!

Kat was wonderful! She accommodated a last minute booking and even came early the same day for a meet and greet. She was patient with our energetic rescue pup and even stayed a few extra minutes to let our pup finish a treat on a hot day. We definitely look forward to seeing Kat again!

Kat stayed at my house overnight for a few days, and was extremely caring and listened to everything I mentioned in regards to Delia’s care. She sent me picture updates regularly and communicated very well. I will likely book with her again if she continues dog-watching

Katherine was great. She was able to meet with us weeks prior to our stay to ensure my husband and I, as well as our two fur babies felt comfortable. The boys liked her right away and I could tell by the photos she sent they really enjoyed her company! The house looked great upon our return and most importantly I did not have to worry once while they were in her care. Thank you so much Katherine.

Schedule

In my day-to-day life, I make sure that everything that goes towards my dogs is beneficial and enriching for them. I make sure my active, working dog gets a training session every day; around 5-20 minutes and he gets daily exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation. I also pet sit for my neighbor's elderly Foxhound, and provide free training for families who are in need of some beginner tips!

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I wake up and take my dog for a walk. Then I feed him a balanced breakfast that has been custom-tailored for him that is homemade and home-prepared. My dog only is given toys and treats that are adequate for his health and safety. For your pet, in terms of pet sitting, I will provide the best quality care that I can and follow ALL written or given instructions for your animal in addition to photo and text updates if requested. I also leave a little goody bag and a special polaroid of your pet(s) after I do any homestay or repeated, booked walks.`

Pets

A typical day

We will go on walks around the neighborhood to begin and if they do well, depending on owners' wishes, I can also walk around a nature park or walk the outer fence of a dog park to ensure your dog will be engaged, meet their mental enrichment, and get out all of their energy!

I would like to come over and meet your dog/cat ahead of time to be sure they get used to me while there is someone known in the household. I will go as fast or as slow as each pet needs in order to become comfortable with me; a new human watching over them.
