Reviews

Katherine continues to do a great job with my fur baby Onyx. He always comes home spoiled and with something extra! You won’t be disappointed using her service!

I don't usually write negative reviews, but after this experience, I feel it's important to share. My dog became sick after boarding with Katherine, which is very concerning. While I understand that dogs can sometimes get sick, there were several red flags that were hard to ignore. The fact that he is sick is alarming, as he was just at the vet last week, suggesting that something may have been given to him that he shouldn't have received without consulting me. Prince is also not the type of dog who eats anything outside; unless food is given to him, he won't touch it. Prince is also on special food and treats, so I would need to be notified before something is given to him. Better yet, he came home sick, which suggests he was already showing signs of illness or stress, as he most likely had runny stool that had been ongoing before his pickup. Let's get into the situations at hand. During the initial meet-and-greet, Katherine's home was quite disorganized and quite nasty. She mentioned they were cleaning, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. We went ahead and booked for the following week. When I picked Prince up, he seemed okay, but he smelled noticeably bad. From the photos I received, it also looked like his harness was kept on him throughout his stay, and I have concerns that he was not being walked. I know that with Prince attending daycare 5 days a week, if he plays with dogs that smell, then he may smell too, so I let this go at the time. Communication was a consistent issue. Before drop-off, I reached out to let Katherine know we were on the way at the scheduled time, but she didn't respond until over an hour later, saying she was at a doctor's appointment. While appointments were scheduled, she knew about the drop-off and did not communicate it in advance. The same situation happened during the next boarding. I reached out again ahead of arrival and received no response for over an hour. During Prince's stay, I had to initiate contact to get updates. I only received one photo, again showing him wearing his harness indoors, with no meaningful updates about his care or activity. Before pickup, I let Katherine know I was about 90 minutes away, as I always do. Again, there was no response. My spouse also reached out with no reply. When I arrived, 4–5 dogs were barking in the living room, and I could see Prince, separated in the kitchen behind a child gate, with another dog. No one was home. About 10 minutes later, Katherine and her husband arrived. This raised serious concerns. At no point were we informed that Prince would be left alone, which is important for any pet owner to know. Additionally, there appeared to be around 7 dogs in a very small home, which is not an appropriate environment. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have booked. Also, given that you have that many dogs and have not asked me for Prince's shot records, this raises additional concerns. In addition, Prince smelled, and his bedding smelled bad. There were also repeated issues with belongings being forgotten. The first time, it was his leash; the second time, it was his food bowl. After I canceled a future booking, Katherine messaged saying the bowl would be left outside for pickup, which felt unprofessional. There should never be a reason that my things should be placed outside unless I request it. Overall, the condition of the home, the number of dogs being boarded, the lack of communication, and the care concerns make this an experience I cannot recommend. I believe more oversight is needed to ensure pet sitters meet basic safety, cleanliness, and communication standards.

Katherine was very responsive and accommodating. I had an emergency need and she came through like a champ. I plan on using her again and would recommend her to others.

Moki loves Catherine! He has so much fun when he’s with her and she takes excellent care of him. He usually hates car rides but gets so happy when he knows we are going to see her.
