Active Care for Every Personality
Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with a beautiful, friendly Golden Retriever, Duma, and also had a cat named Dutchess, so caring for both dogs and cats has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve also been watching pets for friends and family since middle school, which has given me experience with a variety of personalities, routines, and care needs. Today, I share my home with my dog, Mindy, and my cat, Ziggy. Through working with Mindy’s reactive tendencies, I’ve become especially comfortable reading dog body language, respecting boundaries, and creating calm, positive experiences for dogs who may need a little extra understanding. I love staying active and enjoy spending time outdoors with Mindy, whether that’s paddle boarding, hiking, or running, and I’m happy to tailor care to each pet’s personality and energy level, from outdoor adventures to relaxed companionship. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, cared for, and excited to spend time together.

Because my own dog Mindy has reactive tendencies, I don’t offer boarding at my apartment. Instead, all of my care takes place in my client’s home through housesitting, drop-in visits, and walks, which keeps your pet relaxed in the environment they already know and trust. When I’m caring for pets in your home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible, including consistent feeding schedules, regular potty breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise, and plenty of affection. I always follow any instructions you provide and keep a close eye on your pet’s behavior, mood, and wellbeing throughout my time with them. I make sure doors, gates, and windows are secured before and after coming and going, and I keep dogs leashed in unfenced areas to prevent any escapes. My experience with Mindy’s reactivity has made me especially attentive to body language and stress signals, so I’m quick to recognize when a pet feels anxious or overstimulated and adjust accordingly. I’m also happy to send photo and video updates so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

Katharine is kind and caring person who we’ve known for many years. Her and her husband once brought their dog Mindy for a play date with our new puppy and let’s say is wasn’t a perfect match, but I saw how well Katherine handled Mindy through the excitable encounter and so I know she is ready and responsible person who cares about wellbeing of animals and has a good temperament and way about them. Highly recommend her for any pets care coverages needs!
Katherine has provided excellent care to my two cats many times. She is extremely trustworthy, kind, reliable and responsible. I don't often trust many folks with my animals but I can always rely on Katherine to not only assist with the basic needs (food, litter, etc) of my cats but also to play with, cuddle & keep my cats company! They love her :)
Katherine is the animal whisperer. Anything that has four legs is Katherine’s best friend, and the animals can totally pick up on that. I’ve gone away for a weekend and trusted her wholeheartedly with my pets.

Schedule
I recently moved to the Ogden area from Connecticut after stepping away from my teaching career, so I have very open and flexible availability for sitting, walking, drop-in visits, and other pet care needs. I’m excited to explore everything the area has to offer and would love to do that alongside your furry companions. Whether you need a one-time walk, regular daytime visits, or extended overnight care, I can work around your schedule. With my open calendar, I’m able to accommodate last-minute requests, longer stays, and consistent routines alike. One quick note: I’m happy to offer housesitting in your home, but I’m not able to provide boarding at my own apartment. Because my dog Mindy has some reactive tendencies, keeping pets in their own familiar space is the safest and most comfortable option for everyone. I’m genuinely looking forward to getting to know as many dogs and cats in the community as I can!
