Safety, trust & environment

When I care for pets in my home I treat them as they are my own. I have a fully enclosed backyard. We would spend time outside playing in the backyard, going for walks around the neighborhood (dogs only), spend time cuddling, reading bedtime stories, etc. they would be provided meals according to the schedule you have set for them. They would have a specific place designated for their food and water. Fluffy bedding accommodations would be provided unless they you have one to provide they prefer.

A typical day

A typical day for a dog staying at my home for in-home boarding is filled with fun, comfort, and attention. From the moment they arrive, they are greeted with a warm, welcoming environment and a cozy spot to settle in. Mornings start with a wagging tail and a romp around the backyard, followed by a delicious breakfast. The day is packed with exciting playtime in the yard, interactive games, and cuddle sessions on the couch. Whether it’s practicing a few tricks, or just lounging in the sun or running through a sprinkler, every moment is designed to make them feel right at home. As evening approaches, a calming routine sets in with dinner and a relaxing winding down before bedtime by reading a book, ensuring they sleep soundly, dreaming of their next adventure.

Pet care experience

*****“Hi pet parents! 🐾 With gas prices currently on the rise, my check-in visit rates are being temporarily adjusted to help cover travel. I truly appreciate your understanding and continued support!”***** Hi! I’m Katherine, and I am here to take care of your furry family members with love and care. Fur mama, animal lover, and dedicated high school teacher—nurturing hearts both human and furry, one lesson at a time! I teach High School Engineering and Game Design at Myers Park High School. My passion for teaching is equal to my passion for animals. I take pride in taking exceptional care of your fur babies that we like to call our guests. I have been a dog and cat owner my entire life. There was never a time when we did not have a cat or dog—or a combination of both! I have experience with both senior cats and dogs, and I’m comfortable administering all types of medications (oral and injection). I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. Included in my services: I offer drop-ins, doggy daycare, and in-home boarding for small breed dogs, providing a warm and safe environment for them to stay overnight. Your pet will enjoy our fully fenced backyard, belly rubs, plenty of lap time and bedtime stories! Please note that I typically book out about a month in advance, as I’m fortunate to be an in-demand sitter. Because of this, I recommend accepting or confirming bookings quickly to secure your spot—availability can fill up fast! Last-minute and emergency bookings are welcome, as long as space is available. All guests must be dog-friendly because I have a small Papillon who is full of fluff and love and a 4 year old daughter who is very good with animals. She has been around them since the day she was born. Your fur baby will never be unsupervised—someone is always home. Please let me know if your pet has any special needs so I can provide the best possible care. Boarding Breed Restrictions: For the safety and comfort of all pets in my care, I do not accept certain strong or high-energy breeds, including Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Boxers, Mastiffs, and similar large breeds. Thank you for your understanding and support of a safe, happy space for everyone. I’d love to learn more about your furry family member and how I can help make their stay feel like a home away from home!

I've used Katherine multiple times for my cat. She is awesome. My boy absolutely loves her and he is very pickly.

As long as Katherine is available (which she is very often) then we will be booking her as she takes great care of our cats, sends detailed updates, and shares wonderful photos.

Katherine is the best. She helped us out last minute when we needed someone to take care of our dogs. She gave our one dog his eye medicine and the other his allergy pill. From now on, I’m only booking Katherine :)

Katherine was great with Boomer! She was so responsive and sent lots of pictures. It was obvious he was warmly welcomed into her home and was in great hands. We will definitely use her again 😊
