Personality is my biggest concern. Before sitting a dog, I need to know what its likes and dislikes are. I have no breed preferences because breed stereotypes are dispelled so often. All dogs have bad habits, as well as personality quirks, so learning about those so as to avoid any issues during the stay is the best way to ensure a successful sitting experience.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Weekday walks will take place in the general downtown Frederick area, where dogs can enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life. But on the weekends, longer, more leisurely walks will be available along the C&O Canal and other nearby walking paths. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Sleeping arrangements are up to the owner. I am more than happy to have dogs sleep in bed with me. If the dogs are more used to sleeping on the floor or in a crate, that can be arranged as well. Time I'll spend with your dog I am usually a homebody so I will likely spend almost all my free time with your dog, taking them for walks, playing with them, and cuddling the evenings away. However, I do have a day job so I will be gone for hours at a time but if time permits, I will come home at lunch to check in and take for a walk. Extra house-sitting services Easy additional tasks such as those listed in the examples are more than fine with me.

About this sitter: I'm a 32-year-old professional who lives with my two friendly, fun loving dogs. Growing up, I was never without pets so I understand how important four-legged companions are to their owners. Nothing makes me happier than snuggling up with an animal whose exhausted after a day filled with fun and play. Everyone needs to get away now and again but it can be really hard to enjoy a vacation when you are worried about your companion stuck in a sterile kennel. That's where I came in. With over 25 years of animal experience and a decade of house-sitting under my belt, I can make your vacation a more pleasant experience for you and your four-legged family members. Why I love dog sitting: I've been a dog lover my whole life. As a child, my best friend was my shih tzu, Buttercup. Although she was small, her personality was anything but. Sadly, she passed before I entered middle school. She was followed by a series of ever larger dogs who I grew more and more responsible for, including my most recent dogs which I have reared from puppies. I love all animals but especially dogs because they are each unique individuals with so much love to give. I love taking them on long walks and extended play sessions, getting them nice and tired, then cuddling until bedtime. My services: I currently offer house sitting and drop-in visits. I do, however, have a full-time job so I am not able to provide 24/7 supervision of your pet but I will do my best to accommodate your pet's needs.

Katherine is our preferred sitter for our 3 Cockapoos whenever we’re away. As always, she is terrific! Our dogs & home are well cared for. We receive daily photos & notes. And she puts up with the antics of our 16 month old Finn!!! You cannot choose a better sitter.
Katherine has housesit several times for our 3 dogs (one a puppy)! She is always attentive to their individual needs and able to manage the chaos of 3 in her stride. We love that she sends daily photos. The house is taken well care of too. She has fun with the pups and tends to the needs of our house with ease. These are just some of the reasons we are a “frequent flyer” with Katherine.
We can't say enough good things about Katherine! She stayed with our dog Ridge for more than a week, and even though our vacation was a bit stressful, knowing he was in her care was a huge comfort. Not only did she make sure Ridge was happy and well-cared for, but she also treated our home as if it were her own. We returned to a relaxed dog and a perfectly tidy home. Katherine is the best, and we'll definitely be using her again!
