Most of my experience is with cats and smaller dogs. All of my life, I have lived with and been a proud parent of cats. For many years, I am a go-to caregiver for friends and family, which includes cats, dogs, reptiles and smaller companions. I believe our animal companions are family, and love to send pictures and updates to bring a little joy while you are away!

Katie is one of the best people to care for pets. She makes sure to address a pet's needs first, and meet them where they're at. One of my dogs, Sushi, is anxious and struggles with strangers, but Katie brought a gentle calming energy and gave Sushi time and space, and now Katie is one of the only people that Sushi will run to meet at the door, tail wagging. My other dog, Alice, is the opposite end of the energy and emotion spectrum, and needs constant stimulation, correction, and focus. Katie is responsive to Alice's signals and finds ways to meet her energy needs through play and walks and training.
Katie is a wonderful caretaker for my dogs. I always know they will be in the best care when she is there. I can count on her to be responsive, timely, efficient, and affectionate when my dogs are in her care. My dogs have a tendency not to like most people, but she is so patient with them and they love her. She has a variety of pet sitting experiences with multiple animals so she knows how to juggle your furry friends.

Zeitplan
Please allow enough time for a short (30m) Meet & Greet to be scheduled prior to any bookings with new pets. This is a meeting in a public place to get to know you, your pet (bring them if possible), and to make sure I am a good fit as caregiver. This is not required if I have worked with you and your pet before. I currently work part-time with flexible hours, so I am able to care for your pet during the day. I am available most days and holidays, making me available for extended caregiving (ex. holiday travel).

I believe in caring for your pet where they are most comfortable and safe - your home. This allows me to meet them on their terms and work in the familiar, like playing with their favorite toys or walking their usual route. This helps minimize stress and maintain established routines while you are away. If you are booking a Home Sit with pet care, please be aware that for the listed rate I will not be staying in your home 24/7. The base rate includes a single Drop-In in the middle of the day. However, I will stay overnight from 6pm-8am, which includes morning and evening routines. The rate will increase if you want more Drop-Ins on a weekday or 24/7 care.

I believe in meeting your pet where they are, with a goal of maintaining routine and providing stimulation. After the necessities, I will engage your pet in playful activities with favorite toys, pre-approved outside time, or simple snuggles, depending on the energy and needs of your pet.
