Pet care experience
Capitol Hill Dog Whisperer
I grew up with dogs all my life and have a real soft spot for these furry little creatures. I have fostered little puppies and older dogs, both big and small, through various Humane Societies on multiple occasions, and, in recent years, adopted one of them (yes, I foster failed!) - she's a little terrier mix named Olive.

Ratings and reviews
Overall Liam had a nice stay with Katherine. She sent me photos and an update on the first day of his stay so I knew he had settled in well. Katherine was well-versed in providing medications and keeping Liam on schedule for dinner and meds. I would be very happy to have Liam stay with her again.
Katherine was wonderful with our 8-month-old puppy. We would absolutely board him with her again!

Great experience! We hope to book again. Drop off and pick up were smooth and we were happy that he had a friend, Olive.

Can always rely on Katherine to take good care of my pups

Katherine was a delight to work with! She took great care of our 4-month-old puppy and was patient with all that puppy life brings. Her updates while we were away were so sweet and informative. Our puppy had a wonderful stay with Katherine!

Amazing as always! Bean always comes home happy.

Schedule
I currently work from home and have built a routine around taking care of my dog, including taking her on walks 2-3 times a day, providing regular feedings, and spoiling her with love and affection. Because of this existing routine, I have found it fairly easy to welcome other pets into my home.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I treat all four-legged guests equally in my home and am mindful of the special needs that each one may have, whether it's a high-energy puppy needing lots of play time, a senior pup needing a little extra patience, or an anxious pup needing a little extra attention on their first visit away from home. If your dog is staying overnight, I will make sure your dog feels comfortable while you are away and will send lots of pictures as well (I've had to board Olive on several occasions, so I know how valuable these updates are to the parents' peace of mind). Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I am happy to provide you with any additional information and discuss your dog's personal needs. I look forward to meeting you and your pup very soon! - Katherine

A typical day
While staying with me, your dog will go on long walks throughout my neighborhood, including the arboretum, which is just a couple blocks away. Since my own fur baby is a little older now, she generally prefers to sleep during the day (mostly when I work) over play time with other dogs but she is very generous and is willing to share her toys with friends. After work is when we usually go on our long walks (weather permitting). If your dog has any specific needs, routines or favorite activities, we can incorporate them into our routine.
