Hello! My name is Katie, and I am a highly educated, experienced caretaker of all types of animals. If it walks on four legs, more than likely I've taken care of them at some point haha! My journey with animals began when I was just 8 years old. Now at 23, my home is filled with love thanks to my wonderful pets: Elita, my loyal five-year-old German Shepherd 🐕, and Bumblebee, my overly adorable six-year-old calico cat🐈. I attended Auburn University (before I transferred to a cheaper school), where I majored in Animal Science and was an active member of the equestrian team (hunt seat). I was also a member of their Eventing team! My passion for animals isn't just limited to my own pets; I've dedicated countless hours to understanding and caring for them. I interned under many eventers, worked under several veterinarians, and gained many years of invaluable experience. I have lived in California, Colorado, Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama and Georgia, and each state I lived in gave me more and more experience with many different kinds of animals. Beyond my technical training, I have volunteered at a service dog training non-profit, which gave me a unique perspective on the incredible bond between animals and humans. My time working at numerous animal shelters has further fueled my dedication to providing the best care for all creatures. I also have a special fondness for birds, especially macaws (coolest birds I have ever been around for sure).
