I work from home, which is a huge plus! My schedule is flexible, and I only take a job if I am able to give the specific dog or cat, the love and attention they need, every animal’s needs are different. I always plan for lots of walks and playtime sessions, cuddles too!

I always set up a workspace within eyesight of a pup in case they have anxiousness and just want to be near me! I spend time with them in the beginning of every job to make sure they are really comfortable. I ensure everything is safe and dog proof , keep trash, put away and keep things very tidy! Safety is very important, and the first priority, health and safety! I’m very attentive on walks to make sure all animals are safe, I truly treat every dog or cat like they’re my own.

Information Katherine D. would like to know about your pet
Medical needs, medical conditions, medications, ( I have experience administering difficult liquid medications with a syringe, large pills, wrapping a paw, and preparing special meals for unwell dogs, giving pills to dogs orally. ) I will also need to know of any important behavior challenges: Reactive dogs, barking when I’m not with them, any behavior that needs to be noted regarding food, bathroom habits, I always ask about typical sleep schedule, just anything behavioral that is good to know! Cats: meds, eating routine, litter change routine, any special needs for the cat or tips on things that they love!
A typical day
I live two blocks from Laurelhurst Park, pups, paradise! i love to take pups to the park, am very attentive, and even have water w/ me in case they get thirsty, and make sure the cement is not too hot during the summer. Laurelhurst has an off the leash dog park for small dogs and large dogs. I only consider this i know the dog very well, and have spoken to the owner about this, and if it’s safe for the dog, then this is an added bonus too! In home: one of my favs: Hide & seek for mental stimulation: using treats, toys, or even dry food. this is excellent for dogs with a lot of energy needing more stimulation. It's super fun for me too! Play sessions: : I have lots of toys but always ask owners about their dog’s favorite toys. Throwing a ball playing fetch for pups that love this! At the end of the day, there’s nothing better than relaxing with a pup and just watching a movie rubbing their belly and just spending quality time with them. Every Dogs needs are different, and I make sure to spend time with them in a way they enjoy.

Huge 💗 4 Seniors! 24/ 7 Care 🙏
Pet care experience
I Love all pets! I’ve Had cats & dogs my whole life , ever since getting my first kitty at the age of 5 ! Growing up we lived on a farm, and my love for animals has always stuck with me. Altho newer to rover, I've been doing lots of house sitting, dog walking & other services in SE Portland, mostly by word of mouth. I live 2 blocks from beautiful Laurelhurst park, a pups paradise! I started doing pet care more often again, after my baby, Bear, a chiweenie spaniel terrier passed away, he was 12, and the love of my life! 🙏 I have a Huge heart for seniors and have spent a great deal of time caring for and comforting sick animals. I have experience with medical issues including giving pills, injections, administering subcutaneous fluids, wrapping an injured foot, etc. I’m experienced w/ cats and dogs medically, one of my regulars is 17 & blind and another is 14 and can’t hear- both are so precious - Seniors melt my heart ❤️ I do take safety seriously, and will always be gentle and treat your pet with respect, attentiveness, and kindness. I’m also great w/ reactive dogs & have had lots of success w/ dogs I walk weekly; from 12 lb to 100 lb dogs. I love working with these pups, it is something I’m good at and enjoy very much. I’ve got lots of experience training puppies, and kitties too! For me it’s hard to go on w/ my day if I feel an animal isn’t super comfortable and relaxed. I always make sure they are happy & their needs are met. They become family & will always feel safe, loved and have fun too! I cannot recommend Kaherine enough! She went above and beyond for my dog during her stay. I especially appreciated the daily updates and photos, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Beyond the standard walks, she really took the time to engage my dog in fun activities and training. A huge highlight for me was her help in socializing my pup with other dogs it was a major milestone, and seeing the progress she made in such a short time was incredible. She is reliable, attentive, and clearly cares deeply about the pets she looks after. I will definitely be booking with her again!

I cannot recommend Katherine enough! She was absolutely wonderful with my dog and truly went above and beyond during her stay. It was so comforting to receive updates every single day, and I loved seeing all the fun activities she planned. She didn't just stick to routine morning and evening walks; she kept my pup engaged and active with plenty of playtime and enrichment. One of the biggest highlights for me was how she handled socialization. My dog had never stayed with other dogs before, but Katherine made sure she was comfortable and thriving in those interactions. That was a huge milestone for us, and I am so grateful for the patience and care she showed. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again next time I need a sitter!

Rosie just stayed for a night with Katie this time. She has been having a bit of an eye reaction, and she came back from Katie's good as new! She's our #1 choice for dog sitting, and is the absolute best!
Katherine was so sweet and checked in very consistently when our dog stayed with her. She asked great questions and loved our sweet dog while we were away!
