Safe Fun Outdoor Doggy Adventures!

I specialize in hiking and outdoor adventures, but am more than capable of normal walks as well. I also take my own dog hiking every weekend, so I know the local trails well. I have experience working with shelter dogs, anxious dogs, reactive dogs, big dogs, senior dogs, and small dogs. My experiences with various dogs and trainers have given me a good understanding of dog body language. Under the guidance of licensed trainers I have worked through separation anxiety and fear-based reactivity with my own dog, and resource guarding with a family-owned dog. So rest assured that if I'm told a dog has any fears or triggers to avoid while on walks, I will take that seriously. I am comfortable with large dogs, even large dogs that pull. I am capable of giving dogs' medications as my own dog is on several for orthopedic surgical recovery, so I have quite a bit of experience doing so. For outdoor adventures, I have done various trail hiking with family-owned dogs, rescue dogs, and my own personal dog. In addition, I have taken several small dogs out boating. I have hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail and Superior Trail, spent weeks camping, and done countless outdoor adventures. I hike rain or shine! Choosing me you can be sure your canine companion will have a safe, fun, enriching experience in the outdoors.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I take safety with the utmost seriousness. When going on hiking trails I ensure that I bring a pet first aid kit with me, collapsible water, and a spare leash for emergencies. I also have a vet hotline on speed dial as well as two local vets saved in my phone. In addition if we are traveling anywhere by car I will ensure the dog is safely transported as I own a variety of dog seat belts and car seats.

It is important to know if your dog and you are ok with me bring my personal dog with on a walk so that I can plan accordingly. Also please let me know if your dog is able to accept treats and if they have any dietary restrictions. I make homemade dog treats, if wanted I can send the recipe and ingredients ahead of time! In addition, if there are any things I should avoid on the walk.
