Pet care experience
Experienced & Fun Dogsitter!
Hello! My name is Kate and I am in my early 30s. My mother is a veterinarian and I grew up around dogs - both our own family pets and animal hospital patients. Growing up, my family has had several dogs - all labs or lab mixes. I have extensive house-sitting experience for dogs of all sizes/breeds and absolutely love dedicating time to dogs. I have both worked at an animal hospital, and as a full-time dog walker. I am familiar with various leash types and am comfortable walking high-energy dogs, dogs who do not do well with other dogs etc.. I do have experience watching special-needs dogs and I am completely comfortable doing so ! I took a break from Rover while my work schedule was not compatible, but I am excited to be back! I have a Master's degree in Higher Education from Harvard and am currently working as college counselor at a private school. I have summer off, so I can dedicate plenty of time to your pup while you are away on vacation! My boyfriend and I have a dog of our own, Ellie, who is a very sweet doodle-mix. I am more than happy to sit at your home if your pup would not get along with Ellie, and we can always do a meet and greet of the dogs if it would be helpful.

Again, we have a doodle mix named Ellie, who will be turning 6 this summer. She gets along with dogs, but is generally more human-focused. We have a small, mostly fenced yard, as well as several walking trails nearby. My significant other is also a teacher who has the summer off, so your pup/cat will get double the attention!
Ratings and reviews
OUTSTANDING! Kate was incredibly kind, communicative, and professional! She stayed two nights at our home and took the best care of our three pets. Every photo she sent us showed them playing, happy, and in their routines. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. I am a natural worry-wart and I felt nothing but confidence in Kate's abilities, as well as her compassion for our boys. We will definitely be booking with her again! THANK YOU KATE!

Katherine was wonderful. Her communication was great, she provided lots of updates and went above and beyond to ensure we came home to a clean home. She is a true animal lover and our babies showed that they were very comfortable with her 🥰

We will be using Kate again! She was wonderful with Charlie and shared a lot of pictures during her day here with him.

Kate was great!! She kept me updated throughout the days and was even able to make friends with my very shy cat.

Katherine was great - she stayed overnight at our house and she took great care of our animals and house. She kept us updated with pictures and videos of all the animals. She was very flexible when we were returning home and her communication was overall excellent. We'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their animals!

I cannot describe how thankful we are that we found Kate. We had to leave Boston for about five days and this was the longest that we had to leave our precious Daisy in a very long time and the first time that we left her with someone from Rover that long. Kate was incredibly professional, gracious, thoughtful, and compassionate. While we were gone, She gave us multiple updates throughout the day with pictures which kept us very informed and at ease. I cannot recommend her enough!!!

Schedule
During the school year, I work part-time in-person at Berwick Academy in Maine, and part-time remotely. To be a good fit for you and your pup, it is best that your dog can be alone for 5 or so hours, as I do go into school most days. Dog care is always a priority in my weekly/daily routine - and I love that! If your pup comes to stay here, we tend to take Ellie on several long walks a day, both off-leash and leashed, as long as it is not too hot. We also have a small yard where we often play frisbee, or just let Ellie sniff around while we sit outside.

- I would like to know if a dog has any specific triggers that may cause him/her to act in a different way. It is important to me to know a dog's routine so that should I be taking care of them, they feel as comfortable as possible in their setting. This includes any allergies or medications as well. I love all breeds and I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes! I have experience in watching special needs dogs and I am comfortable administering treatments and providing any extra care. Although I do allow dogs on the bed and couch in my apartment, if you do not, I will maintain those rules at my house. My goal is to keep things as consistent as possible so as to make your dog most comfortable!
