Safety, trust & environment
In your home, I’m careful about: • Preventing door escapes by entering and exiting slowly and deliberately • Securing doors, gates, crates, and harnesses before and after walks • Following all household routines exactly as outlined • Keeping doors and spaces as I found them For cats specifically: • Extra care around entryways to prevent bolting • Checking closets, cabinets, and enclosed spaces before closing doors • Monitoring litter box habits and alerting owners if anything seems off • Keeping play areas free of potentially unsafe items For dogs: • Double-checking leashes, harnesses, and equipment (especially for escape artists) • Respecting boundaries such as baby gates or restricted areas • Ensuring a calm, controlled environment during visits and walks I keep detailed notes and send regular photo updates so you know exactly how your pet is doing. I also take pride in leaving your home clean, secure, and just as you left it. Your pet’s safety — and your peace of mind — always come first.
Information Katherine B. would like to know about your pet
Important Information About Your Pet: Before caring for your pet, I appreciate learning as much as possible about their individual needs and preferences. Helpful information includes: • Medical conditions, medications, or mobility issues (such as arthritis) • Any areas that are sensitive or should be avoided during handling • Anxiety triggers, fears, or behaviors to be mindful of • How your pet prefers to play — or if they prefer calm companionship • Feeding routines, dietary restrictions, and treat guidelines For cats: • Whether they are shy, anxious, or need time to warm up • Favorite hiding spots or comfort routines • Anything that helps them feel safe while you’re away For dogs: • Comfort level around other dogs or people • Walking preferences (including whether to avoid other dogs) • Crate routines or items that help them feel secure The more I know ahead of time, the better I can tailor each visit so your pet feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

How I Spend Time with Pets: I tailor each visit to what your pet finds most enjoyable and comforting — whether that’s active play or quiet companionship. For cats: • Interactive play with wand toys, lasers, and small toys for exercise • Gentle tossing games for cats who like to chase • Calm lap time, petting, and quiet interaction for shy or senior cats • Allowing cats to approach at their own pace and build trust naturally For dogs: • Short, structured walks appropriate to their energy level • Playtime with toys such as frisbees when appropriate • Calm attention, petting, and positive reinforcement I’ve found that many pets — especially cats and anxious or senior animals — care just as much about feeling safe, relaxed, and understood as they do about play. I spend time sitting at their level, letting them get comfortable with me, talking to them, and making sure they feel secure in their own environment. Play is always balanced with reassurance, affection, and respect for each pet’s personality.

Experience includes: • Drop-in visits and potty breaks • Leash walking and basic training reinforcement • Puppies and senior dogs • Multiple-dog households ⸻ 🏥 Special Skills & Safety • Experience with senior pets and medical needs • Comfortable transporting pets to the vet in case of emergency • Familiar with pet CPR concepts and emergency response • Careful attention to dietary restrictions, allergies, and instructions • Detailed visit updates so you always know how your pet is doing ⸻ 🕒 Availability & Reliability • Flexible schedule with availability for daily drop-ins • Punctual, dependable, and consistent • Comfortable with short-notice requests when possible • Meet-and-greets always welcome I treat every home and pet with respect, and my goal is for you to feel completely at ease while you’re away. ⸻ A Note About Boarding While I have a fenced yard and a friendly resident dog, I am not currently offering boarding. This may be an option in the future.
Reviews

Katherine is flexible and willing to help us short notice!

Katherine is very thorough and trustworthy.

Katherine is a fantastic care giver for your fur babies! She was loving with our cat, reliable, and communicated promptly. Total 5 star sitter! I’ll hire her every time I’m traveling

Katherine was a wonderful sitter for my two girl cats! She took care of my girls so well & went above & beyond in her care, even going the extra mile at times like when she did a deep clean of their litter boxes without me asking. I also enjoyed the detailed communication and many photos she sent of each visit!
