Pet care experience

Beach Walks, Belly Rubs & Calm Home

I offer a calm, attentive approach to care with a fully fenced yard and easy access to the beach for regular walks and outdoor time. I’m a dedicated dog lover with hands-on experience caring for my own dog, so I understand the importance of routines, consistency, and reading a dog’s cues. While I don’t provide formal training or specialty services, I focus on creating a relaxed, safe environment with plenty of attention, affection, and exercise—treating every dog like part of the family. I do have a dog of my own, he loves dogs and is well socialized—but if a visiting dog prefers being the only pup, he’s perfectly happy heading to Grandma’s for a little vacation of his own.

Katherine was great! She was accommodating and easy to communicate with. Sent us some great updates and pictures of our guy. Our pup seemed very happy and right at home staying with her. We will definitely book her again soon.

Katherine is one of a kind! She is incredibly trustworthy and has a genuine, deep love for dogs that is obvious the moment you meet her. My dog absolutely adores her, to the point that she cries and looks for her when she leaves. Katherine understands that every dog has individual needs and personalities, and she goes out of her way to make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved. Katherine can't pass a dog on the street without stopping to say hello! I never worry when my dog is with her because I know she’s not just being cared for, she’s being truly loved.

Safety, trust & environment

I focus on creating a safe, calm, and predictable environment. My yard is fully fenced for secure outdoor time, and dogs are always supervised when outside. Inside, my home is clean, comfortable, and set up with safety in mind—no access to unsafe areas, toxic plants, or hazards. I follow each dog’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, and any specific instructions, and I’m attentive to behavior cues so I can adjust as needed. My goal is for every dog to feel relaxed, secure, and cared for—just like they would at home.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day is quiet and tailored to each dog’s energy level. We usually start with a walk (often to Silver Sands State Park if the weather’s good), then breakfast and downtime. The day flows between fenced-yard time, sniffy walks, enrichment toys, naps, and lots of lounging around the house. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and encouraged to stick close if that’s their style. Evenings are relaxed—another walk or yard time, dinner, and winding down. I follow each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel settled, comfortable, and at home.Q

It’s helpful to know as much as possible about your dog ahead of time so I can make their stay comfortable and stress-free. I appreciate details about daily routines, feeding schedules, medications, allergies, or any special needs. I’m also comfortable accommodating dogs with medical needs, including administering medications. Please also let me know how your dog does with other dogs. I share my home with my Boston Terrier, Walter—he’s friendly, well socialized, and naturally submissive, and generally enjoys the company of other dogs. That said, if your dog prefers to be the only pup or needs a quieter setup, I can make arrangements for Walter to stay with his grandma so your dog has the space they need.
