I'm a freelancer and work remotely, and would love to fit your pets into my daily routine. FOR WALKS: • Daily walks (morning, afternoon, evening) • I can work with you and your dogs' needs on their walks - for instance, if they're displaying anti-social behavior, pull on the leash, or bark. This could be in the form of treats / positive reinforcement, leash training, or a mix of both. • If you use an e-collar for your dog, I also have experience with those and have worked extensively with certified trainers for using one with my own Shepherd. (However, I am not a certified trainer myself so please work with one prior to using the collar, if you have never done so before.) PET-SITTING: • For both kitties and pups, I can come by in the morning, afternoon, and evening if need be. • Food, walks, cuddling, and / or just sitting and being there with your fur babies are all on the table; just let me know - I am here to take good care of your pets and make them feel loved while you're away. If you are in need of someone to stay over with your pet, we can certainly discuss.

Information Katharine S. would like to know about your pet

I love details and am happy to accommodate you and your pet’s needs, especially where every pet has a different personality and preferences. I’ve watched and taken care of pets with medical needs, and am familiar with senior pet care.

A typical day

I love to ensure the pets get their energy out and play, whether that’s inside with enrichment activities or outside on walks. This is also balanced with resting and relaxation time, so they understand to take a break or if it’s time for Mom or Dad to focus and work. Walks also mean sniff time (it’s their ‘reading time’!), and a great chance to work on listening skills, etiquette, and depending on the pet, socialization.

Pet care experience

Looking for someone to consistently take your doggo(s) or even kitties out for a walk? (I take my cat out with her trustworthy backpack!) Or perhaps someone who can pet-sit and stop by whenever needed, and can send pictures, videos, and updates? I've got you covered and would love to take care of your pets! A little about me: • Animal lover and artist here in Los Angeles • Grew up with shelties, always dreamed of having a cat (and now that I'm older, I have one! More about her below...) • Owner of a rambunctious 3 year old rescue Belgian Malinois / German Shepherd mix, who I've worked heavily with on training. Am happy to also work on training techniques and etiquette with your hound - especially when on walks. • Also have a 15 year old wonderfully grumpy elderly Tortoiseshell / Tabby cat (who's a rescue as well), and am familiar with the curmudgeonly ways of elderly kitties. Thank you for looking, and please don't hesitate to reach out!

Katie spent a week caring for our 6 month old puppy when we needed to be out of town; he was a handful at that age, but she handled all his quirks and training needs with love, attention and diligence. She was communicative throughout the week, providing updates and anecdotes about his antics. She also was incredibly respectful of our house while she took care of our pup - leaving it in pristine condition. She has a wonderful way of engaging pets in her care - very loving, but also firm when required. We wish she was on the East Coast!

I want to highly recommend Katharine as a pet walker/sitter. I have observed her with her own pets and she is always patient, gentle, and loving towards them. She is a very responsible and loving pet owner and would be extremely trustworthy with other people's pets.

Katie is an incredible animal caregiver. She's detail oriented and recognizes the importance of giving each pet unique care. We have two kitties and she'd be my first choice to watch them every time!
