Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets, my top priorities are safety, trust, and comfort. I always make sure pets are in a secure environment; doors and gates checked, leashes clipped properly, and no harmful items within reach. Building trust is just as important: I take time to learn each pet’s routine, body language, and preferences so they feel safe and loved in my care. I also create a positive environment by keeping their space clean, calm, and full of the attention they deserve, whether that means play, exercise, or quiet companionship. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, secure, and cared for, just like they do with you.

We had a previously positive interaction with Kate and were looking forward to using her a second time, however, on the day we left for our trip she was 3.5 hours late to her first walk and became unresponsive to messages and calls. This prompted us to reach out to Rover Support (which didn’t do anything), and call a few close by friends to have them on standby at 10:00pm (!) in case Kate never showed for her drop in visit which was scheduled for 7:00pm. Thankfully, she messaged around 10:30pm that she was finally heading over after a “meeting ran late”. I understand things come up and life can be unpredictable, but in these instances you need to remember that you agreed to care for someone’s pet, and that animal and their owners are relying on you. If “meetings run late” or life gets in the way, please over communicate and remember that an animal is home alone and waiting for you. This was a very stressful way to start a trip, not to mention the anxiety I felt for my dog who was home alone without a bathroom break or dinner.

I can’t say enough great things about Katelyn! She took amazing care of my three cats while I was away. Each of my cats has their own personality (and quirks), and she handled them all with so much patience and love. I got daily updates photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were happy, safe, and well cared for. I highly recommend Katelyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and reliable sitter!!
Kate is an excellent communicator. I was grateful for her flexibility. Her pup updates along the way were great too. I would definitely book again.
