I'm comfortable with many training tools (crates, martingales, harnesses...etc). To ensure consistency, I will ask detailed questions about commands, skills, and manners your pet currently knows and will follow your training program, unless I notice a matter of safety. I will then discuss the matter with you before proceeding in any way. During pet-sitting, any pet made messes will be cleaned promptly to maintain a happy, healthy home for your loved one.

A typical day
I can offer a variety of activities for your pup! Walks in your neighbourhood or on one of the many trails around. We can spend some time at the dog park. If your pup prefers a quiet life, we can spend time with light brushing, and snuggling. For dogs that would enjoy it, I can set up snuffle activities! We can even spend some time practicing known commands or improving manners! Whatever would best suit each dog.

Pet care experience
I am educated in Animal Welfare and Companion Animal Behaviour from the Agricultural College. I have more than 300hrs of volunteer experience with various animal rescues, including cat/kitten fostering; kennel cleaning; dog socialization; dog walking. I have a soft spot for any senior animal needing medication and/or a little extra daily care. I've owned dogs, cats, rodents personally and provided pet-sitting services for friends and family for dogs, cats, rodents, ducks, livestock (cattle), and miniature horses. In regards to training, I believe the best tool is consistency and focus on balance/positive reinforcement.

Katelyn was absolutely incredible, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She stayed in our home while caring for our dog, Theo, and our cat, Tapioca, and from the moment we left, we knew they were in amazing hands. Every day she sent thoughtful, detailed updates along with lots of photos, which completely put our minds at ease while we were away from our fur babies. She truly cared for them as if they were her own. Theo got plenty of exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation, and Katelyn even continued working on his training while we were gone. It was so reassuring to know his routine and development were being maintained. She was equally attentive to Tapioca, making sure both pets received lots of love and individualized care. We came home to two very happy, well-cared-for pets and a house that was just as we had left it. Katelyn went above and beyond in every way, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, communicative, knowledgeable, and genuinely loves animals, Katelyn is the person you want!!
Katelyn is actually an angel sent from heaven. She is a dog whisperer and her presence makes flora and i calm. She is reliable, dedicated and most importantly makes me feel safe knowing flora is well taken care of. Lucky to have her in our lives!
I don’t think I’m gonna ever had a better babysitter/nanny then Kaitlin. She left her synopsis of the day every day and did so much with my two dogs. They are in such great shape and more polite and Kaitlin came. I am so very happy with everything that Kaitlin did, her dedication was 100%
