Cozy staycation in South Austin!
We each have many years of experience caring for pets! Kate grew up with rescue dogs and cats around the house and Joe grew up with dogs. We've cat sat for friends a number of times over the years, both at our home and in theirs, always ensuring their cats were well attended to and plenty of pictures sent to their owners! We also had a senior cat for four years that we loved and learned how to care for with her different medical needs (arthritis, kidney problems, limited mobility, etc).

Joe & Kate took amazing care of my pup while I was away on a work trip. They were incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, sending regular updates and lots of pictures that gave me total peace of mind. It was clear they genuinely cared about her - they took her on plenty of walks, spent time playing with her, and were very attentive to her needs. I could tell she was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time I was gone. I really appreciated the level of care and attention they provided, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again in the future. Highly recommend!
Katelyn & Joe were amazing hosts & caretakers to my two cats. I really appreciated their attention to detail on everything from feeding to playtime to multiply photo updates each day. They took in our two cats and gave them care, respect, and attention as if they were there own, and it was clear from our first conversation that Katelyn & Joe understood the subtle and complex needs of the feline species. Their home is a safe and great environment and they were flexible & generous with slightly complex feeding instructions & taking in some cat gear that helped our guys feel at home. I would 1000% board our cats with Katelyn & Joe again.
Katelyn is one of the most loving, thoughtful, kind people I know. I could not recommend her more! She shows up with commitment and dedication, has a natural ability to connect with people and animals alike, and is a quick and eager learner when doing something new. Kate is incredibly empathetic and caring. She is patient, intentional, present, and attentive. She approaches everything she does with care and it’s impossible not to feel that when you’re around her. I’ve known Kate for over a decade now and have shared time and space in many capacities, both professional and personal, and appreciate how she consistently brings her open heart, creativity, critical thinking skills, and fun loving personality no matter the context. Katelyn is consistent, and is someone you can count on. I have the utmost amount of trust in and respect for Kate and there’s no question she’ll be an amazing Rover sitter. Time and time again she shows enthusiastic, loving care, whether engaging with children, adults, or pets. Her cats have been so lucky to have her! As have I, and as will you!

Schedule
Joe works remotely and Kate works part time so pet care would fit rather seamlessly into our routine! There are odd weeks here and there where I'm gone for a day or two or he is but the other is there to pick up any slack. We have a nice little backyard area that any outdoor pets would enjoy during their stay. We also love to go for walks around our neighborhood already so pets that need walking would be easy to fit in for us, too.

We love the experience of having pets in our home. We love being able to play and entertain pets, whether it's playing fetch outside or directing a cat with a laser pointer. We'll communicate with you as much as possible up front to ensure your pet is getting what they need, whether that is at our home or yours!
A typical day
We want your pet's stay to be comfortable and happy for them, and worry-free for you! We can structure their days to best suit their needs, but below is some basic info of what we can offer. Dogs: We have a big backyard for your dog to run around and play in! We have options for quiet neighborhood walks and are not far from Mary Moore Searight Park for a more adventurous walk. We welcome your dog's favorite toys with them but also have some they can try out. If they like to cuddle, we are here for it! If they like space, we'll honor it. Our home is your dog's home while they're here! Cats: We have no shortage of cozy blankets, big windows, and comfy spots for your cat to enjoy. We will follow your cat's lead on how much they might want to play or cuddle together. We are here for whatever type of stay your cat will need!
