Pet care experience

Here for you, rain or shine!

Hello! My name is Kate and I recently moved to Baltimore from Annapolis. I am teleworking Monday through Friday and am typically available for drop ins and dog walking! Pet sitting is really special and important to me, as I'm missing my two family dogs (Aussie Doodles), my cat (a rescue) and my two turtles (all of whom live with my parents back in Michigan). Dogsitting in Annapolis when I moved here during COVID became my lifeline, and I’m so grateful for all of my clients who have shared the honor and responsibility of spending time with your four legged friends with me. In a quick summary of my skills listed below: I am mature, patient, and very attentive when it comes to animal needs. I have two dogs at home, one who is older and takes medicine twice a day for seizures, and one who is younger and has anxiety. My parents always paid me to take care of the pets when they were gone, and I know you can trust me with your pets as well. I love walking pets and at home I would try to take my dogs walking at least three or four times a day, up to about three miles. I’m working from home now, and really close to Federal Hill Park, so your furry friend and I can go on awesome walks! I'm really patient with animals and I'm very aware of pets' needs, for example what certain attitudes might mean, or what signs they might be giving that means they are hungry, or need to go outside. I'm very attentive to the way animals walk or if they are hurt, which sets me apart from others because a priority on walks should be safety and engagement. I am very experienced attending to basic needs of animals, as well as trimming cat nails, brushing (and potentially giving a basic shave to dogs) animals, and taking care of a wide variety of pets. We used to refer to our house as a "zoo" because we've had fish, frogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, rabbits, ferrets, hermit crabs, and of course, dogs and cats. Something that you should know about me too is I really value an animal's training, and will do everything I can to make sure that I am enforcing any pet training that you are working on. Training engages animals' minds and is a sign of respect, and I am comfortable making sure that pets are following the rules (for example, not jumping up, heeling or sitting before crossing a street, etc.). About my home: I live in an townhome apartment near Federal Hill Park. Walking pets is easy around here, and I’m comfortable having pets visit me. I hope that you will feel comfortable sharing your beloved animal friends with me, and please reach out if you’re interested!

Safety, trust & environment

When I’m taking care of your pets in their home, I closely follow instructions to a t. I will play with your dogs in the yard if you have one, I’ll take your pets on walks, and I’ll feed your pets exactly what you’ve told me. I’m not afraid to administer medicines or give your dogs a bath if they need it - taking care of your house while you’re gone is important too! Most importantly I’m communicative and send pictures. I also think it’s important to note that I’ll be incredibly respectful of your space - all I need is a space to work and a bathroom and I’m all set!

Kate is the absolute best! She took incredible care of our kitties — gave them lots of play time, kept them on their routine, provided lots of photos and updates, and always made sure they were safe and happy.

Kate is such an amazing pet sitter. She is reliable, communicative and great with animals. George, my cat, absolutely adores her! She also made sure he was well fed, litter box clean. She spent time playing with him and making sure he got his treats. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!

Schedule

Kate can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
How does your dog do on a leash? What’s the best way to win your dog over? I would love to know what kind of treats your pets like! I love making homemade dog treats. What are your pet’s favorite things? Least favorite things? How do your pups tell you they have to go outside? Do you have a backyard? How are they with other dogs? It is also important to me that I know any health considerations of pets before arriving so that I am aware of any situation that I might encounter. I would love to know any training or rules that you expect your pets to follow before I house sit (ie if a dog can be on the couch or have treats). I really love playing with dogs that are between 40-70 pounds, as that's what I've grown up with, though I love all sizes of pets. If I am to stay overnight or during the day I would like to know how much a dog barks, since I am currently working from home.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
