Happy tails in Ballard
Hi! I'm Kate, a lifelong dog lover living in Ballard with my husband and our sweet 13-year-old Weimaraner mix, Duncan. I'm currently taking a career sabbatical, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend with the dogs in my care. Whether your pup needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or devoted extra attention while you're away, I'll make sure they get plenty of exercise, affection, and personalized care. I've previously been a Rover sitter and am excited to start again! I know how important it is to find someone you trust, and I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. One of my favorite ways to spend the day is exploring the neighborhood on foot. Duncan and I regularly walk around Ballard, including the Ballard Locks, Golden Gardens, Sunset Hill, and the many quiet neighborhood streets. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely stroll or a more energetic outing, I'm happy to match their pace and routine. Before I care for your pup, I always like to do a meet and greet to make sure the energy feels good. If requesting boarding, I'll have you bring your doggo over to meet Duncan-he gets along with most dogs though as he ages he's getting a little judgemental (it's not you it's him!). I'll keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you always know how your pup is doing while they're in my care. I'd love to meet you and your pup!

Safety, trust & environment
My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I'll follow your routines as closely as possible, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, favorite walking routes, or reinforcing the habits you're working on at home. I always use secure leash handling, pay close attention to each dog's comfort level around people and other dogs, and never take unnecessary risks. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you know your pup is happy and doing well.

Kate is a lovely, caring woman who put my husband and myself and our miniature schnauzer, Izzy, at ease as soon as we met her. Kate got down on the floor with us as we soothed Izzy's excitement about having a new person in the house. Soon, Izzy was happily relating to Kate. Kate has a warm-hearted, calming presence and clearly has had a lot of experience with taking care of dogs. She listened thoughtfully to our sharing information about Izzy's likes and dislikes, and we felt at ease at the thought of having Kate stay in our house with Izzy. Upon our return, Izzy had clearly received excellent caretaking.
This is my second booking with Kate. She is so wonderful with my reactive, anxious dogs. Highly recommend!

Kate is wonderful. She is so good with my anxious dogs and made them feel extremely comfortable.
Kate did a fantastic job taking care of our pups while we were out of town. They are a little high maintenance and she was able to take all of their needs into account. We received daily updates and photos, which let us know that everything was okay! Would definitely book with her again!

Schedule
I'm currently taking a career sabbatical, so I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits most days. I love getting outside for walks, so caring for dogs fits naturally into my routine. I'm also happy to work with your dog's normal schedule to help keep things as consistent as possible.
