Information Kate T. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog has updated shots and is treated for flea and tick prevention, is microchipped, and is spayed or neutered.

A typical day

Weather permitting, I can walk your dog up to thirty minutes at a time. I personally enjoy taking a walk in the woods or around the block is fine. I'm also fine with going to a local dog park, providing your dog has been there before and has behaved appropriately. Time I'll spend with your dog: I usually spend up to an hour at a time with dogs, depending on how far away from home I am. Extra house-sitting services: I can water plants, leave out/bring in trash bins, bring in newspapers and mail. I'm also happy to feed fish and other critters (rodents, lizards, etc ) at no additional cost!

Pet care experience

Hey there, my name is Kate. I'm a mom to a teenager, two dogs and two cats, and have experience taking care of feral cat colonies. I have been a foster parent and former employee at Helotes Humane Society, as well as Converse Animal Shelter. I am Pet First Aid certified by the American Red Cross. I have first-hand experience observing dogs and cats in a kennel environment, and believe they are much happier and less stressed in their own homes. At home, they are in a safe environment avoiding conflict, sickness and injury that may be present at a kennel, as well as on a set routine. I can visit up to three times a day or as requested. I'm also happy to administer topical or oral medicine, brush, trim nails, water plants, bring in mail, and take out the trash. **I require a minimum of three days notice prior to sitting in your home as well as walks, although I may be able to accommodate if you have an emergency.** **Discounts for active duty military, senior citizens, and cat colonies** Why I love dog sitting: I have had dogs as pets since I was born. I know many breeds and understand most dog behavior. Dogs are all so different, but are so much fun! Meet my pets: I have a dog named Sheba, whom I adopted from Converse Animal Shelter. My dog Ludo, is my emotional support dog. I also have a cat named Bucky, a big cat who's paws were burned on a car engine. My experience administering medication: I'm most comfortable with pills or topical medication, but have limited experience giving injections. I trim my dogs' nails regularly using clippers and a PediPaws, and can help with others, so long as they trust me and aren't too wiggly.

Kate was wonderful when watching my two cats for a week. One of my cats needs daily oral medication, and they eat different foods. Throughout the entire stay, Kate was reliable, communicative, thorough, and sent cute photo check-ins of my kitties. It was reassuring to know that my little guys were in good hands while I was away. I’m hoping to rebook with Kate the next time that I’m traveling.
