I currently work full time remotely, so would be available to be at your home during the day. On the weekend I spend lots of time with animals that I'm caring for, making sure to match whatever their needs are.

I like to meet with my clients and their pets before sitting for them for the first time. This gives everyone a chance to get to know me, animals and humans. It's important for helping to understand rules, norms, and commands the animals have, get familiar with where everything is, and start to build a relationship of open communication and expectations.

It's important for me to know their commands and things they are allowed and not allowed to do. Additionally I find it really helpful to know the quirks of each animal. Examples include: escape artist, no balls in the house, chases cats, ball obsessed, feeding instructions, etc. I can handle any quirk or behavioral issue an animal has, as long as I know about it ahead of time.
A typical day
I love taking long walks with dogs and exploring the neighborhood that I'm staying in. Often the dogs will lead me on their favorite walks! If they like to go to the dog park or play ball I'm also happy to do that with them. For cats, I follow their lead! Play time, cuddles or being left alone. It's up to them!

Pet care experience
I've been around cats and dogs my whole life and love spending my free time with animals. Over the past 10 years, word has spread amongst friends and friends of friends that I'm good with animals, as well as being very reliable and responsible. How I interact with animals depends on their needs and ranges from walks, playing inside/outside, hikes, dog park, or lots of snuggles and pets. I can accommodate feeding schedules as needed and am able to give pets oral medication as well. In case of emergency, I'm also happy to take pets to the vet.

Kate was a fantastic dog sitter to our 4 month old puppy for 10 days. Ahead of her stay, she asked several questions and made sure she got to know our puppy and her routine ahead of her stay. She asked very good questions demonstrating her experience in pet sitting. She provided several updates and pictures throughout her stay and was able to adapt to the ever changing nature of a puppy. She provided a thorough update at the end of her stay and clearly showed that she cared for our new family member the same way we would. She was also an excellent house guest leaving our place exactly as we left it. We will definitely use Kate in the future our dog sitting needs!
Kate made us feel at ease when caring for our pups during a long vacation abroad. We returned to two happy pups. Thanks Kate!
The only downside to traveling is leaving your beloved pet. We felt confident in Kate as soon as we met her. She is kind and caring and we knew she would take good care of our cat Basil. She sent us updates and photos and we could see he was happy and well. When we came home, he was the most relaxed we have ever seen him after being in someone else’s care. We did not get the cold shoulder this time. Kate stayed in our home for almost three weeks and when we returned Basil and the house were perfect, even the plants looked better than when we left! Kate is one of a kind, we hope she will be available next time we go away, she would be a tough act to follow.
Kate was amazing with our anxious dog Stella, who felt very comfortable as soon as she met Kate. We received lots of updates throughout the house-sitting session. Would highly recommend!
