Availability

I work three days a week mostly from home and my husband works from home the end of the week so there is always someone here for the dogs. We will always walk the dogs first thing in the morning, lunchtime and then after dinner. We have three older children who love to spend time playing with any dogs we have.

Information Kate M. would like to know about your pet

We will always arrange a meet and greet before your dog comes to stay with us so you can see where they will be staying and can be confident that your dog will be happy with us and with our own dog. We will always ask what their usual routine is and ensure that is followed while they are with us. We will ask whether you are comfortable with them being let off their lead in an open field or whether you prefer to keep them on the lead. We will ask about vaccination history and ensure we have their vet details in case of emergencies. Most importantly we will ask you what their favourite toy is.

A typical day

We like to go for at least three walks a day with one longer one and two shorter walks. These tend to be along the wagonways which have plenty of room to run around. Then spend the remainder of the day enjoying the sunshine in the garden or sleeping. We are happy to keep your dog on a lead if you'd prefer or if their recall is not very good.

Dog boarding and day care in a family home.

Pet care experience

We are fully insured and licensed by North Tyneside Council and have been awarded 4 stars which is the highest rating a business can achieve in the first license period. All dog boarders offering care in their homes have to legally be licensed by the local council. My husband and I love dogs first and foremost and have had a number of dogs over the years. We currently have a 5 year old labrador called Fraser. We started helping family and friends out with their dogs and enjoyed this so much we decided we wanted to offer other families somewhere for their dog to stay whilst they were at work or on holiday. One of the motivators for this was that when looking for someone to look after our dog when we went away, we were totally shocked at the amount of very poor quality dog boarding options. Your dog will become part of the family for the time they are here. We always offer meet and greet sessions before hand so we can all be 100 percent happy with the request and any boarding requests over 3 days will require a trial night to ensure your dog and we are happy.. We are aiming to have a number of regular families we work with in the hope that we will always have availability for your holidays / commitments so your dog doesn't have to keep getting used to new families. We have a secure fenced in garden and our dog loves to have new friends come to stay. We spend our days walking in the fields or on the beach. We have experience with older dogs and puppies. We would also be happy to care for small animals such as hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Homer was incredibly well looked after. I was reassured he was happy and comfortable all of his stay. Got lots of updates and he quickly became part of the family . They really wanted to understand his needs and character which made me feel completely at ease . Highly recommend this lovely home and dog loving environment. Thank you !

Outstanding service, first time we left our dog overnight and it worked amazing, Olly couldn't have been happier, got lots of walks and attention and came back happy and content, we are over the moon and will definitely be booking Katie and Ade in future again

Ted has just stayed for a week with Kate and her lovely family. Following meet and greet visits, and seeing how Ted was with their wonderful dog Fraser, we knew he would be well looked after and be made to feel part of their family. We weren't wrong, Ted had a wonderful time, evident with the up dates and photos shared. Being a border collie and full of energy, they made sure his needs were met. We gave detailed information on his care, brushing, feeding, his funny ways and nothing was to much trouble. We weren't made to feel like over protective owners. They understood being loving dog owners the anxiety of leaving your dog, this was very reassuring. I would highly recommend their services, truly 5 star care.

Katie and family recently looked after our young cocker spaniel for 9 nights. Millie was so happy and settled with them, and we received regular updates and photos to let us know how Millie was doing. We were apprehensive about how Millie would cope with being away from us for so long, but we shouldn't have worried at all. We gave detailed verbal and written instructions for Millie's routine and they took on board everything we said, even down to remembering conversations we'd had on our initial meet and greet! Millie had plenty of walks and got on really well with their resident labrador Fraser, they shared toys, beds and lots of lovely walks. We're over the moon to have found such a great family to look after Millie when we go away and will definitely be booking in again soon. Thank you! Millie will miss you all!
