Availability

I have full time availability on the weekends, and availability on most weekdays. My schedule is flexible so please feel free to reach out even outside of my designated availability and we’ll see if we can make it work! PS - I know leaving your pet with a new person can feel daunting, so I’m always happy to schedule a meet-up beforehand to get to know you and your pet better, and minimize any anxiety for both you and your pet. I think it’s very important to take the time to learn about your dog’s unique schedule, their likes and dislikes, and any specific needs or routines.

Information Kate K. would like to know about your pet

Some questions I'll likely ask at our meet and greet for a dog: - What time does your dog usually eat? - Do you take your dog on walks at a consistent time? If so, what time? - Can your dog comfortably hold their bladder overnight? - Is your dog crate trained? - Are there any commands or behaviors you're working on? How can I help maintain your existing training regimen? - Verifying emergency contact information - Verifying veterinarian information There are no wrong answers to any of these questions and answering as honestly as possible will help me give your dog the most comfortable stay possible. For cats, we will just chat about your pet's preferences and see if there are any adjustments we need to make to the home to help them have a comfortable stay. We'll cover all this and more during our meet and greet!

A typical day

A typical day really depends on what will make your dog most engaged, happy, and comfortable! When it comes to walks, I tailor them to your dogs' energy level and preferences. For stays or drop ins, I make sure they get walks, regular potty breaks, cozy downtime for relaxation, and play. But this all totally varies from pet to pet, and I base a typical day on whatever an ideal day would be for your dog in particular.

Pet care experience

Hi there! I’m Kate, a lifelong animal lover, experienced dog walker/sitter, and recent NYC transplant looking to make some new four-legged besties. 🐾 I started dog walking and pet sitting through Rover while attending Villanova University and continued caring for pets throughout my time living in Boston (typically did so off Rover…I’m happy to provide additional references). After recently moving to New York City, I decided it was the perfect time to get back to doing something I genuinely love: spending time with animals. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, live alone, and have plenty of time to give pets the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs and cats, and I still regularly care for family pets and friends’ pets whenever they’re away. I’m selective about the bookings I take because I want every pet in my care to feel safe, happy, and loved. My days already include walks along the West Side Highway, so having a furry companion join me is always a bonus! For new clients, I love learning about your dog’s favorite routes, parks, quirks, and routines so I can make their time with me feel as familiar and comfortable as possible. Whether your pup is looking for long walks, extra playtime, or just a cozy companion while you’re away, I’d love to meet them (and you) soon! 🐶💕

Kate did a wonderful job walking Atlas. She was very attentive to his needs and did a long walk for his high energy. I would recommend her to anyone. She is great with animals and really cares about their well being

I was a little worried about leaving my 15 year old Cabot, whom I adopted in February 2020 (one of the few great things about 2020!), because he's been with me 24/7 ever since. When I met Kate at our Meet and Greet my worries were laid to rest! Right from the start he took to Kate and her home and it was very apparent Kate loves dogs. From the moment I dropped him off until the moment I picked him up Kate gave me updates and lots of pictures. Cabot looked so relaxed and happy because he WAS. She showed him so much love that I could feel it from her texts and photos. We are Kate's first client but I know she's going to have many more. I HIGHLY recommend her for your dogs when you go away for a vacation or a day trip. I know Cabot has a newest bestest friend and Kate WILL be watching him when I go away, for a week or a day, for however long he has. Thank you, Kate, for taking such wonderful care of him and showing him so much love!!
