Kate was very sweet and showed up on time for the meet and greet. She was kind, and my dogs clearly liked her. She took great care of them and sent good pictures while I was away. My reason for not giving 5 stars is related to communication and following my requests. After accepting the booking, she raised her price, explaining she was new to the platform, this was her first booking with the site, and she is used to charging more. I asked her to update the listing to reflect that, which she did, and we mutually agreed on the higher rate. I had also specifically requested that my dogs not be left alone after dark, late in the evening, asking for house sitting, not drop-ins at the time of booking. We have a noise ordinance after 9:00 PM, and Coco, one of my dogs, can bark if left alone at night. I love my neighbors and have liver her for many years and would want him out that late in the back yard barking, some of them are in bed at this time. This was the main reason I booked an overnight house sitter. However, she arrived after 9:00 PM. Despite this request I made to her the prior night. Kate had asked if I would mind if she left to go out late at night to a Birthday Party after 10 PM on Saturday. She did ask on that night, so I appreciated her not leaving that night. I told her by text message not to leave Coco that late at night, that would not be okay; daytime was fine, but not that late. The next day, Sunday, I noticed she was there and walked my dogs at 2:30 PM; I could see that on the ring camera. I have no issue with her leaving during the day at all. But late, after 9:00 PM, I was worried about my dogs. She was told by the rover message board that she should be coming back, and she returned at my request at 9:30 PM. She was out for dinner, and it sounds like time just got away from her. My dogs were just fine. Huge relief that was my main concern, and also neighbors did NOT call me, so they must not have been barking. Overall, she was great with the dogs, and they enjoyed her company, but I would have appreciated closer adherence to the agreed-upon time of arrival. As this was her first booking on Rover, I think with more experience, she will improve and be a very good sitter.

I can’t recommend Kate enough as a pet sitter. She is reliable, caring, and truly treats every animal like her own. From regular updates to making sure routines are followed, she goes above and beyond to keep pets happy and comfortable. I always feel completely at ease knowing my pet is in such good hands.
