I’m a teacher on summer vacation right now! I’d love to make my summer really meaningful by helping out some pups and their owners! (Or cats for drop in visits!) Come the fall, my schedule will be restricted to weekends, with some possible exceptions- just ask!

About Kate D.

Safety, trust & environment

Outdoor meet ups with owner an owner present are required between my dog and yours prior to daycare- please allow about 20 minutes for that. For overnight boarding we will have to do a meet up sometime leading up to the board, at least a day in advance. My dog, Ernie, does very well with other dogs- the purpose of the meet ups is just to make sure everyone is comfortable- dogs and humans! Doggy seatbelt provided for drives. Large kennel crate provided if your dog is used to sleeping in one! (However they also have the choice of the foot of my bed, or a dog bed next to it!)

Home

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Information Kate D. would like to know about your pet

I want to know your dog’s routine, their command words/signals, likes and dislikes, quirks, habits, and anything else you would like me to know! Transparency and honesty is important here! I know that no dog is the same and no dog is perfect, and I’m okay with that! (As a example, these are things I might tell a sitter about my dog: he will get into the garbage if given the opportunity, he’d do anything for a treat, he loves scratches under his ears!)

A typical day

For boarding and daycare, I will provide walks and backyard playtime! I learned leash control techniques in a dog training class, and I practice these daily walking my own dog. For backyard playing, I have a little under half an acre of space for them to run, closed in by trees. I always keep a lightweight 12 foot leash attached for emergencies. If your dog is a known escape artist, I’ll forego backyard time and do an extra walk! I’m also happy to bring your pups along with me to the beach or on a hike- please let me know if your dog has any limitations!

Kate is the best of the best when it comes to pet care! She is a true animal lover, and will take special care to ensure your pet is cared for, played with, and loved. The best part - she doesn’t even have to try! This is simply who she is - a person who truly cares. Kate has looked after my two kitties, Ellie and Smudge, on many occasions when I have been out of town. I never have to worry about my girls when they are in her care. Kate goes above and beyond the necessary care tasks, taking extra time to play with them, cuddle with them, and send me lots of (much appreciated) pictures and videos! Kate is kind, generous with her time and affection, and is simply a lovely human to have around your pets ❤️.

Kate is a wonderful pet owner. Very attentive to her dog and all dogs around her. She’s very caring and patient with animals. I highly recommend her.
