Availability
Looking after dogs fits around my family life with 4 children. Dogs receive plentiful company at our spacious house and garden, a variety of countryside walks from our doorstep or within a 10 minute drive, and enrichment through games and toys. I take pride in giving our dog Cola her ‘best life’ and treat any guest dogs as my own whilst in my care. Please note that I leave the house for school runs and occasionally other brief engagements, but never for very long. My focus is looking after your dog(s) alongside my family. Drop off and pick up times can be arranged to suit you, and updates and photos are provided to give you peace of mind while dogs are in my care.

Safety, trust & environment
I will only look after a maximum of 4 dogs at any one time, thus not creating a pack of dogs. In this way, I guarantee each dog gets ample attention in a safe environment that feels exactly like a home-from-home. Ideally, I would like to recruit just a few more regular day care dogs, who become part of our family during the time they are with us. I also enjoy providing dog walking services. These responsibilities are taken on to fit around any dog day care commitments, not detracting from them.

Information Kate D. would like to know about your pet
I insist on a free meeting before plans are set to ensure all parties are happy; dogs and people. Comprehensive information about your pets will be required so I can understand their individual needs.
A typical day
Guest dogs need to be good with other dogs, children, and not catch cats! If those boxes are ticked, I look forward to welcoming your dogs into our home and making sure they have the care, attention, exercise and entertainment that result in happy days for happy dogs.

Pet care experience
I am a genuine life-long lover of dogs and all animals. We own a 3-year-old Flat Coated Retriever, Cola, who adores the company of friendly dogs. In addition we have 2 cats and 2 rabbits at home. Since October 2023, we have volunteered as a foster home for a charity called Canine Partners who train dogs to become assistants to disabled adults. Whilst this experience has been a joy, I am now inviting dogs into our home as a very small business.
Reviews
We could not be more at ease knowing that our dog, Bailey, is in Kate’s care for the day. From our first meeting to see how Bailey got on with Kate, her family and their own adorable dog Cola, we knew Bailey would be extremely well cared for and loved whilst spending the day with them. Bailey enjoys a very long walk every day she is with Kate and Cola which is perfect as she is a high energy breed. Kate also has a very large enclosed garden which is a great space for dogs to run around in and explore! However, more importantly for us, Bailey gets to spend the day with Kate and of course Cola which is perfect for her as she loves to be with people. It is reassuring to know she has company all day rather than being at home with just a dog walker booked for the middle of the day. Receiving photos of Bailey and Cola on their walk during the afternoon is a lovely bonus to my day too. Kate really cares that Bailey is happy in her care…and I know from the excitement level Bailey shows me when she realises we are heading to Kate’s in a morning, that she is beyond happy to be spending the day there! I highly recommend Kate for all your doggy care needs and am confident that your dog will more than thank you for putting them in her care 🐶
Cassie absolutely loves going to stay at Kate's! I used to feel guilty about going away, but now that we've found Kate I feel guilty about taking her back home again! Kate has such a lovely house and garden and the dogs seem to settle in straightaway into her family life. Cassie loves her children, who are clearly brilliant with dogs, and she gets so excited when she realises she's going to see them again! Communication has been great. Overall couldn't recommend Kate more!
Kate is great - in all our dealings she has been a good communicator, professional, reliable and very good with our black lab, Bella. She is clearly a dog lover! Would not hesitate to recommend.
I have quite a temperamental dog with a complex personality, Kate is the only person I have ever trusted with his care and she has been brilliant. Kate listened intently (and even took notes) whilst I rambled on regarding the do’s and don’t with him and the things to look out for. Kate gave me daily updates when we were away and photos to show how settled he was and enjoying himself, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now!
