I am a full-time pet caregiver, so your pet is my number one priority. I am responsible and trustworthy, so you never need to worry about missed potty breaks, or late medications. My own dog gets three dedicated walks a day plus play time and enrichment activities. I offer the same dedication to your loved one.

I am with your fur-baby the entire time they are entrusted to my care. For home visits to your home, I utilize the time to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable. From walks to potty breaks, a treat (if allowed), and an enrichment activity, to making sure their paws and privates are clean, and their bowl is filled with fresh water, I want your pet to look forward to my visit! And if your pup does daycare or boards with me they will be treated like family I keep your friend on YOUR schedule as to not disrupt their desire for routine, but they will get numerous walks, trips to the park (on-leash only), enrichment activities like puzzles, and are most definitely allowed on the furniture (unless you'd prefer them not to be.) Coming to my home should feel like going to camp, and coming home with lots of fun stories to share with you.

Information Kat R. would like to know about your pet
I have extensive experience with Senior and Special Needs dogs, and would love to be sure that the care your pet receives from me is exactly how you want it. Do not hesitate to provide a step by step care plan, color coded meals and meds, and request hourly updates! I know how hard it is to leave our best friends in the care of someone new, and I want to be sure you feel confident that they are receiving the best care.
A typical day
We do three walks a day and I like to let the dogs set the pace. Between walks we bathe in the sun on the patio, take naps, and also make sure to get in plenty of enrichment activities like treat puzzles, sniffaris at the park, and training exercises.

Pet care experience
Loving dogs is my biggest passion in life, so for the last 20 years I've dedicated myself to being a fantastic dog mom, foster mom, and care provider to my clients and their beloved dogs. From 3 lb chihuahuas to 160 lb mastiffs, I will provide the most loving and compassionate care to your furry best friend. Whether your dog likes to walk the neighborhood, or utilize a sling or stroller, we'll hit the town and get those noses sniffing and brains working. I can handle meals (including hand feeding), medications, and potty needs without issue. And I love to come up with new enrichment activities to keep your bestie's brain in tip-top shape. My specialty is Senior and Special needs pups who need a little (or a lot) of TLC, be that help with mobility, feeding, or medication. I'm experienced with dogs who have seizures, diabetes, kidney disease, neurological disorders, and mobility needs. And I love them all the more for it! I can assure you I will care for your baby as though they are my own.

Reviews
It’s hard to find a caregiver for a paralyzed and incontinent dog so Kat is very special to us! She is kind and caring to the pets and humans and I don’t know how she keeps her residence so clean all the time with pups coming and going! Her rescue work speaks volumes of what kind of caregiver she is!
There are only three people in the world I’d trust to care for my senior dog Harold, and Kat is absolutely one of them. She’s endlessly patient, gentle, and incredibly experienced with animals of all ages and needs. Kat has fostered more than 50 pets, from bottle-fed puppies and kittens to hospice and medical cases, and has also cared for her own pets with major medical conditions. She provides loving, safe, and attentive care to every animal, and her reliability and communication make her someone any pet parent can count on.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Gentle Paw. My senior dog, Penny Lane, requires daily medication, along with extra patience and TLC. Kat goes above and beyond to make sure Penny is comfortable, safe, and cared for like family. Kat keeps me updated so I have complete peace of mind. It’s such a relief to know she has a place where she’s not just looked after, but truly loved.
