Safety, trust & environment

I have an enormous securely fenced back yard. This is where I take my guest pups to play for most breaks, but I also run my neighborhood most days. I’ll run your pup until they tire out, provided they are able and comfortable with the new environment. Ultimately, I’ll match our activity level to your dog’s needs. While I love to run with energetic pups, I also adore loving and cuddling pets that are older, anxious, or have limited abilities. On that note, one of my recurring client’s kitties is a long haired “tripod”. She gets around just fine, but needs to have her bottom cleaned up after litter box visits, as she can’t hold her hind end up. She lives a great life with a bit of extra attention. I will also care for your pet in any way they personally need in my safe, secure and loving home ❤️

Home

Information Kat B. would like to know about your pet

I like to know your baby’s normal feeding times, potty schedule, temperament and activity level so I can keep them in their normal routine and know if anything is unusual for them. Please inform me if your baby is playful, timid, friendly, territorial, etc., how much exercise they like to get, their eating and bathroom schedule, and if they have any health concerns, medications or problem behaviors. As long as they are not aggressive to cats, I can manage just about anything with a simple heads up ☺️

A typical day

I can only work for about an hour and a half before I get antsy and take my guest pup outside with me to sniff around my big backyard, fetch, and run around. Sunday I’m away from home for about 2 hours for church and grocery shopping. My work schedule is noted above. When I do leave my home, my motion censored cameras send me little videos when your pup or my kitties are up and about. So I always have an eye on your baby.

Pet care experience

Hello! I’m Kat, a Ph.D. student looking to break up my studies by playing with your pet! I include a free bath with all natural flee-killing shampoo with your pups first boarding to make sure my house, cats, and guest-pets don’t get fleas. After the first visit, I’ll know your pup is flea-free and trust you’re diligent with their future flea treatments ☺️ I require a meet and greet for all boardings and house sittings. I will come to you, or meet you at a public place of your choosing (for your convenience, and to vet each sitter for my own security) ☺️ Three skills set me apart from the other fantastic care-takers on Rover: 1. My ability to run with dogs, keeping them happy and healthy. Providing pups with sufficient exercise can be a challenge for some, but it’s extremely helpful for managing any anxiety your pup may feel from being away from you and in a new environment — and I enjoy it! However, I also love a lap dog! And will ultimately meet your pups activity level and needs. 2. I have *a lot* of experience with special needs pets: elderly animals, “tripod” (3-legged) fur-babies, and high anxiety pets, for example. I even provided long term care for an angel-dog with terminal cancer a few years ago. One of her legs had to be amputated 💔 and she was a big girl, so caring for her was very difficult, in addition to being heartbreaking. However, I’m glad I was capable of caring for her, since her owner couldn’t manage the emotional toll, or physical/time demand that it involved to keep her comfortable in her last few months ❤️‍🩹 3. I bend over backwards for animals 🥰 I actually cared for the sweet angel-dog who came down with cancer for free. I’ve also rescued and rehomed multiple dogs when their owners couldn’t care for them, and I’ve captured, spayed, vaccinated, fostered, adopted, and/or found homes for 21 stray cats/kittens! (The two cats I have now are adopted strays). While I do need money, (because a PhD student is just a college student with more homework and more bills! 🥹) I truly go above and beyond to make sure your pet is healthy and happy for the sake of their wellness 🥰 For your ease, I offer free cancelations, and try my best to accept last minute bookings because I understand that unexpected events can change your plans. However, it is usually difficult to arrange last minute bookings, as I request meet and greets for all first boardings, so booking in advance is appreciated 😊 I have to go to school occasionally, but, if so, I’m only gone for a maximum of 4 hours. If that’s too long for your pup to be alone, please let me know so I can try to adjust my schedule accordingly. It’s quite flexible. I normally work from my laptop at home and will be with your baby all day. Being home most of the time gives me the opportunity to take my guest pets on very frequent play sessions in my giant fully fenced back yard. I will never leave your dog outside unattended, although my fence is 100% secure. I’ll be running around out there with them, and getting precious photos and videos of them to send to you! As I alluded to, I’m the crazy cat lady who feeds the neighborhood strays (all fixed and vaccinated!), but I only let 2 of them inside my home— Ms. Fiona and Mr. Fyodor. They are indoor/outdoor, and come and go as they please. When I board energetic dogs, my cats tend to stay outside, leaving my house to the guest pet. However, they’re very friendly and accustomed to dogs, and eventually get curious about my guest pets, so you may get a super cute photo of your baby with my kitties 😻 that being said, if your pup is aggressive with cats (a little good-hearted kitty chasing is normal and ok, teeth-bearing growls and biting-attempts are not), I won’t be the sitter for you. I have to keep my babies safe! I own one extra large kennel, but will only use it when I leave my house if instructed to do so by the pet owner. When I do leave, I get video messages from my house cameras when there’s movement inside, so I can be sure everyone at home is happy and safe 😊 My requests of you: 1. I respectfully require that you have your pet up to date on their parasite prevention. As noted, I will give your baby a good scrub with an all-natural flea shampoo upon arrival, just in case one hopped on them outdoors but please do your part and treat your baby before boarding them 🙏 as noted, my cats are always up to date on their parasite treatment, and my home and yard are treated with Vinx naturally derived, pet and eco friendly pest prevention products, but since I use natural products, it’s important to use every possible layer of protection 😊 2. If your baby has any health concerns, including anxiety, please give me the full details. It will not discourage me from pet sitting them, but I need to be prepared to give your baby everything they need to be comfortable in my care ❤️ A friendly note: As I was a bartender/server for 10 years, I learned that we can generally count on others to reward us for good work, even though it’s optional. So, please don’t take my free bath/ competitive cost as a red flag. It’s simply an optimistic & strategic approach to earning 😊 (Rover takes 20% of all service fees, but 0% of tips!) Reach out to set up a meet and greet. I can’t wait to take excellent care of your furry baby! ❤️🐕🐕‍🦺🐩🐈‍⬛🐈❤️

Kat was absolutely amazing for us! She went above and beyond to make sure our animals needs were met and they were all taken care of. We have a 13 year old diabetic cat that she also cared for as well. She administered all her insulin shots and had no problems. She also gave updates every day on our fur babies. I was so thankful to have the peace of mind while she stayed at our house and took care of everything. Will definitely use again for future care!! Thank you again!!
