Hi, my name is Kassi and I’m 28 years old. I grew up on an acreage surrounded by animals. I’ve never had less than 3 dogs at a time, and have always had at least one cat for good measure! I’ve had the responsibility of taking care of my pets since I can remember. I have experience with dogs and cats, of course, but am not limited to them. I currently own a parrot and 2 dogs, and have had or fostered many pets growing up such as pocket pets, fish, birds (including parrots), livestock, and I have some reptile experience as well. I love animals of any sort and would love to help you keep yours happy and safe while you're away! I’ve worked professionally in dog and cat boarding kennels/daycares, a grooming salon, and a veterinary kennel attendant in the past. At the doggy daycares I was responsible for one pack at a time consisting of 10-25 dogs off leash in an enclosed area. I ensured all dogs were getting along, all were healthy, happy, and loved. I would take lots of pictures for owners, ensure every single animal got attention, picked up poop, and brushed out all dogs at the end of the day. I ensured everyone recieved adequate breaks and kennel time for seniors, puppies, and dogs with unique needs (breeds prone to overheating/timid/overexcited). I always made sure there was plenty of fresh water, shade, down time, and play time. I learned a lot about dog behaviour and how they communicate, which is really helpful when getting to know a dog and understanding how they are feeling. I am currently apprenticing under a dog and cat groomer once a week (flexible).I was a dog bather in the past where I worked hands on with dogs and cats everyday. I bathed, dried, clipped nails, cleaned ears, brushed teeth, and loved on dogs all day. I love working with animals and wouldn’t be happy doing anything else. I have experience with special needs pets (reactive, medical needs, administering medication, anxious, senior, puppy). I am very accomadating and am willing to take things slow with meet and greets/dog walks or whatever works best for your pet. I’ve taken courses on dog and cat behaviour and recognize how they are feeling and act accordingly. I have no preferences on size or breed and am not scared of barking or in your face dogs. I am a gentle, caring, trustworthy and reliable person. I am dedicated to animals and have many references to support my work. I will be working in your home. I treat all of my clients home with respect and care. Whether I am visiting your pets or house sitting I will keep the place just as tidy as it was left. I will provide updates and pictures and/or videos twice daily, usually morning and night unless something eventful happens. I am happy to send more or less as needed!
